OMG this food is some of the consistently tasty soul food in Bessemer or Birmingham. This plate is some of the best of everything I've ever tasted. The food is hot, which is important to me. The staff is always professional. And the place is always clean. View all feedback.

Didn't get any good vibes from this place. Food was ok but I won't be coming back. The three people I came in contact with was like what you want,no smiles, no thank you nothing. View all feedback.
The catfish was overly salty, and the candied yams had an overwhelming amount of cinnamon. The food is typically good, so I'm not sure what went wrong today. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing it away after only eating the broccoli casserole. It feels like money wasted. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
The food was fantastic, and we were welcomed as soon as we arrived. I will definitely be back! Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30
The restaurant's atmosphere felt unwelcoming as no one greeted us upon arrival, and the place didn’t seem very clean. Just for reference, I'm originally from North Carolina and have a good understanding of soul food. I often seek out soul food restaurants in the South while traveling, but this experience was far from what I expected.
The food is good and always consistent on taste. This is our Sunday after church go-to restaurant almost every week.
It was my first visit to this restaurant, though my sister and brother are regulars. I've heard great things about the food. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't very busy—probably due to the holiday weekend. There was plenty of food on the steam table, but the selection was somewhat limited. I opted for a few takeout plates that included collard greens, candied yams, oxtails, and fried chicken. The hot water cornbread was quite good. The oxtails were absolutely delicious, and they served a generous portion. The yams were excellent as well. A meat and two sides costs around $12, while the oxtails with two vegetables come to about $24. I’m sure we’ll be back!
