Della Casa - Bern

We walked by on way to our hotel and I noticed what appeared to be several locals inside and a traditional Swill exterior. While searching for a place we wanted a home cooking type meal with a casual atmosphere. We were absolutely delighted by the...meals. I had the Rosti with leeks, diced potatoes Swiss cheese and fried egg. It was mouthwatering and filling. My husband had the veal and we all agreed it was perfection. Our friend was very surprised by the spaghetti. After having just traveled to Venice and Lake Como he said hands down the best Spaghetti he has ever had! We so enjoyed our waiter and met the chef too who was very kind to us. An absolute gem! Must try this restaurant!

What could I write about this place? I came back here because I knew they had a big Wiener Schnitzel. And offers various well prepared local menus....

This used to be one of my favourites in Bern, old school soulfood, hearty service from strong old unfriendly ladies, I loved this place, they served meat parts even the french blush by the names, and the Berner Platte was a challenge.Now it seems a Bindella type of mainstream fastfood has taken over, increased the prices, reduced the quality and gone is the charm, what a loss, where do I go to now in Bern? These places once they loose it, it is gone, took a generation to create, and one dinner to loose, sad!

The old and classic equipment fits the delli, as well as the very good kitchen. about delicious fish to classic meat dishes you can find here everything the heart desires. for a businesslunch the della casa is always suitable. the central position is also not to be despised. the building does not look very adorable, but it is only in the restaurant that you change this abruptly!

I've been looking forward to seeing my friends in the delli for some time. in one of the most beautiful restaurants in bern. we spent a nice evening. unfortunately we had to wait for the service personnel for a very long time. the one or the other of our group, therefore, close to that.
