Great and charming location with very friendly staff and great host! Coffee is excellent, cakes are unique as well as very tasty and the variety/quality of apple juice is excellent. The café itself is beautiful, the coffee is good. It gets 5 stars for its cakes, especially the apple penny roll. It doesn't matter if all the other things were tasteless, the Meringue roll is so good I would make a way for another slice (and...I rarely rave over everything). It was the right mix of sweet and tart, the apples were tasty and the whole thing was just magic in the mouth. I would have bought another slice if it wasn't the last one.

Their website isn 't quite clear on what 's consistently available for spontaneous customers. You may have to preorder your vegan items. The only vegan items (under Abelade on their website) are apple crumble of chocolate fig tarte.

Apfelgold has, according to some people, the best vegan apple cumble pie in Switzerland and even in the world. Personally, I wouldn't be so dithyrambic. The vegan apple crumble pie was indeed delicious, but didn't blow my taste buds out. The coffee shop and staff are lovely and it's definitely hype place to have plant-based milk/drink.
