Berlin has quite a few Austrian restaurants...this one has pretty fair prices, nice décor and very traditional dishes.
I had the cheese spartzel. Was absolutely fantastic, the best dish I've had in Germany. It came with a sweet and sour salad which was really good, I had never had a salad like that. In addition it had an appetizer, some shrimp dish in a piece of lettuce which was also delicious. The server who I believe was an owner was very friendly- he can look standoff-ish as he paces around out front but once you get talking you see he's a great guy. I saw him at another restaurant in Berlin two days later and he remembered my name and greeted me. Overall fantastic experience and good at this place.
Weiner Beisl was a delightful discovery around the corner from my hotel one late night. A quiet German pub restaurant l, friendly to foreigners and with delicious food.
