One of us fell ill and informed the place one day ahead of the tasting that they would not be able to attend and asked for a possibility to postpone or get a voucher or one bottle of wine as a token reimbursement. The wine shop declined, showing no goodwill at all. That evening, they only put snacks for the number of attending people on the table and catered quite a few glasses of high quality wine less, so they really made a profit off the cancellation. Sure, they had to pay the sommelier, but the event would have taken place even if one person less would have bought a ticket. This behaviour is greedy and unacceptable. They lost us as customers and perhaps some of you will think twice as well.
