Friendly English speaking staff, fast service, decent food and regular prices ~10 euro for a second course, ~4 euro for a beer). Open till late night, smoking room inside. Check out the old photos there apparently the place is very old and there was always some sort of a bar there. View all feedback.
What Agustin Lindgren doesn't like about Gaststätte Walhalla:
I've been there with my bf, the location is pretty and looking like a typical german pub. The shop assistants are friendly and kind. The beers are very good, same about the cider. The food was not bad but nothing of that special, the meat...was just okay. Recommend if you want eat fast and frind in a warm place! View all feedback.
The lox of the plaque is the spend of the vetch of the neighbors, the galaxy of the News, the sport of the smeting other. It looks like a nice velocity bar for its own. Nice prices, delicious food, nice staff. I was reminded of the bar from the adventure novels.
Recommended by friends from Hannover as a meeting point on a Saturday aftenoon/evening for drinks and food, as we had eaten just before travelling to Walhalla we had a beer and watched the football while we waited for our friends to arrive, it is a...busy place with what looks to be mostly locals using it but we were made to be felt welcome as we relaxed. once our friends arrived drinks were ordered along with food for them, it is a german menu with pizza and pasta served, between them they ordered pizza, schnitzel and schwabentopf, the meals looked great and what we tasted from their plates lived up to expectation. As we were on a very short visit we were unable to return to sample properly for ourselves but we have our plans made for another visit. Prices are attractive and portions filling, overall a nice place worth travelling to.
It was ordinary but very tasty food for an unbeatable price! Very friendly waitress as well plus they have an english menu. Would recommend for sure!
I know this location since decades and visit it from time to time. If you are looking for a bite or drink late in the evening it is is perfect.
If I was to walk into an establishment and say I am Gluten intolerant I would be taken seriously, if I said I was allergic to Seafood I would be taken seriously, if I said I cannot consume alcohol due to religious grounds I would...be taken seriously, yet say you are Vegan and you have a target on your back, Walhalla was yet again no different. So at the moment they are only offering take out due to the lockdown situation, not their fault I admit, but when you order a Pizza and state categorically no cheese, no dairy and that you are Vegan, you expect them to be either compliant or at least, honest! I ate in there the last time they were opened and I ordered the same thing, a non dairy pizza with mushrooms and spinach, no problem I thought, it turned up and the Spinach did taste different from what I have known before but nothing too out of the ordinary, or so I thought. Then they went to take out only and I ordered the same thing. A week later (today) I went back, trying to be a loyal customer and I ordered the same thing but this time, they dropped the bombshell on me, and only upon having completed the order did they tell me that there is butter in the Spinach, WHAT????? Who the hell puts butter in Spinach to go onto a pizza, that's disgusting and I cannot believe I couldn't detect it, although I did notice the differing taste than from before but I figured it was some sort of seasoning they were using, or the baking process, but BUTTER? WHAT? So OK, they got one up on the Vegan guy, well hilarious, however, I am allergic to meat products but only fortified enriched dairy products such as Yoghurts and heavy cream do I react to, so only a very small amount of butter must have been used but that is beside the point; when a paying and loyal customer is treated like this, it demonstrates nothing but utter arrogance and sheer contempt. This is an establishment clearly struggling but then to conduct themselves like this, it is disgusting and not remotely amusing, like I said, had my concerns been on health or religious grounds, I would've been taken seriously, but as soon as the word Vegan gets mentioned, the less than professional amongst the crew think it's hilarious to literally lie through omission and have a private chuckle to themselves, when in fact such practices, as I have said so many times before, can be downright dangerous if not lethal. In America, a man was served a product containing Egg despite the vendor knowing he was Vegan and the poor man subsequently died. It is imperative that establishments take such things seriously, instead of taking advantage of the moment to enact immaturity and utter stupidity. The trust is gone, I will never return, well done Walhalla, you just lost a regular customer.
