I’m not sure why, but it’s just not the same anymore. The very first branch I ever visited was in Berlin – the one at Potsdamer Platz. On this visit to Berlin, 12 years later, I went into that same branch because it happened to be near my hotel. I ordered pasta arrabbiata because I enjoy spicy food, but unfortunately, what I got was more like pomodoro – just a simple pasta with a basic tomato sauce. The dessert was served in a jar and seemed to have “cut corners” by using less mascarpone, creating an empty gap beneath the strawberries on top. The price doesn’t justify the visit – and certainly not the quality of the food. Sadly, I had a similar experience two years ago at another branch in a different country. It’s a shame, as I used to really enjoy dining at this chain.
