Still furious from recent visit to Vappiano Berlin. However the reply I got from the complaints department was almost worse than the original insult. Without going into too much detail of the build up the chef failed to assure me if my meal was cooked...gluten free as stated on menu. His distain for my essential questions was obvious in front of a busy line. As it unfolded it was clear he had zero training in allergies and when I pressed him I became the victim of a racist verbal assault. I was continuously asked by the chef where I came from and was told if I wanted to be safe and have a good time in Berlin I was to behave more German. I was told I wasn't from here and shouldn't ask questions about food preparation. This all in front of work colleagues and a busy line of people. I asked for the manager and reported the incident, to which the chef's collaborated to explain in German that I had tried to enter the kitchen. I expressed how sad I was to be racially offended and he just told me he was too busy to do anything. By the time I complained in writing the narrative was clear from Vappiano's. The complaints department decided that attacking someone because of where they are from and ignoring my safety and health was nearly due to the language barrier and I must have been confused. Unbelievable. There was no confusion, there was no apology, and no one took responsibility. My advice, avoid this chain like the plague and if you must go be careful not to ask any questions about your food, do not ask to speak to the inept manager and most of all never complain to head office, they will gas light you till you wonder if you are crazy and make you question what is institutional racism
Overcooked pasta after of waiting. Would never recommend! Terrible experience when a teenager cooks for you. Blaaah
Waited in line for probably Half of the pasta's were out of stock, carbonara and shrimp pasta tasted excatly the same: tasteless
