first because eating on the water, on this boat is already an experience in itself. secondly, because the personal is always friendly and helpful. they have a few vegan options here, I already had the burger once that was on the weekly menu and was quite good, but my personal highlight is their vegan fish View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Van Loon:
as far as I am the only vegan thing on her menu (except waffeln) was fish n chips. only two vegan diving sauce options: grill and mango sauce. the chips were pretty bad that you could say that it wasn't homemade, they were dry, and they weren't even shaped like pommes that they were kartoffel slices. the vegan garnel and broken tinten fish would have been in order if it were more interesting to immerse it. Oh, and I... View all feedback.
I went here for dinner with friends in the summer. Among a plethora of different meat and fish dishes there were three vegan main options to be found; a vegan burger, a vegan double-patty burger with no bun, and a vegan fish'n'chips with vegan shrimps and calamari rings. I had the double-patty burger with no bun (14,50€ and it was alright. The lack of vegan options combined with my lacklustre burger warrant to stars; however, what salvages the third star for Van Loon is their wonderful location. To have my meal while sitting on the deck of a boat on the Landwehrkanal, on a beautiful, sunny day, was absolutely wonderful. It's a unique experience that I haven't had anywhere else in Berlin. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to Van Loon. If I do, I will try some other dish, and it will with utmost certainty be on a beautiful, sunny day.
I absolutely adore Val Loon. First, because eating on the water, on this boat is already an experience in itself. second, because the staff is always friendly and helpful. They ahve a couple of vegan options here, I already had the burger once which was on the weekly menu and was pretty good, but my personal highlight is their vegan fish&chips served with different dips and roasted potatoes. They look absolutely great. The calamari rings are like the real ones, and the fish texture with the melting cream cheese or whatever is in there... You have to give it a try!

Oh, and I wasn't full, and it was the most expensive dish I had eaten in my six days in berlin. not worth it!
As far as I could tell the only vegan thing on their menu (besides waffles) was fish 'n chips. Only two vegan dipping sauce options: barbecue and mango something sauce. The chips were pretty bad you could tell it wasn 't homemade, they were dry, and they weren 't even shaped like fries they were potato slices. The vegan shrimps and battered squid would have been okay if there was something more interesting to dip it in... Oh, and I didn 't get entirely full. And it was the most expensive dish I ate in my 6 days in Berlin. Totally not worth it!!!
For the first time I have eaten here and I was not only enthusiastic about the situation, but also about the service and eating. the service was friendly and attentive so they really felt comfortable. the food was creamatiw dressed and we always got the food (original and main food,) that promised to look, was tastefully also reflected. a little I think is not open. the portions were well matched. all in a great evening!
