I don't even know where to start. Our waitress was great. Super attentive, always there and totally friendly. The shop is okay, unfortunately very, very loud. Minimalist but practical. I don't understand the euphoria surrounding the store. I found the food to be very mediocre and overpriced. There were five of us, my favorite boss invited. I probably would never have gone there privately. The ambience is just not for me. The food was bland. Salt was missing everywhere. My roasted vegetable broth with Flädle seemed like hot water in dark. Probably leftover vegetables, peels etc, fried very hot until burnt and water on top. In my opinion there was no salt in it at all. The pancake strips were just as tasteless. For the main course I had pressed cheese dumplings on savoy cabbage. The dumpling had a little more flavor thanks to the cheese, the savoy cabbage was okay. I missed the caraway or nutmeg. The gastrointestinal thanked us accordingly. My colleagues had wild goulash and mushroom goulash (vegetarian). It looked very appetizing, tasted okay, but there was no salt. In my opinion, visually one and the same. Even the waitress had to look where the vegetarian version belonged (assuming she recognized it). It was difficult to tell the two apart. I wouldn't be surprised if the sauce was basically the same. Another colleague had Königsberger Klopse. Looked very lekka, and probably was. I didn't like the mashed potatoes that much. Probably stirred with a machine, then the starch comes out and you get something similar to glue. Unappetizing. As a starter we had a quartet of salads. They were okay so far, but unfortunately also pretty bland. I also didn't like the fact that all four of them were stuck together. I don't like herring, but it was inevitably included everywhere. The portions of all the dishes were also quite small. Conclusion... Many people may like the concept, but I don't. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Even if my boss would like to explain to me that the ingredients are selected, this is unfortunately not evident from the concept. The Old Berlin Cola comes from Hamburg, for example. Nevertheless, it was a nice evening, although I would have liked to have spent it somewhere else with the same people. I'll save photos, they look like all the other photos here. But wild and mushroom, who can tell the difference?
Didn't catch their names but really accommodating service! I was pressed for time to make an appointment nearby so I got food to go and came back after over an hour to ask if I could eat there (shite weather so not really a park picnic kind of day). They even thought to offer warming it up and plated it properly which I really appreciate. The lady who processed my return of the to-go bowl seemed new and didn't understand that I meant to leave the 5 euro deposit as a tip for the entire team. Hope she gets a bit more training from the others.
Place was hopping. Waiter was pleasant. His wine recommendation (Glow glow was good very zesty! The rösti were both too notch. Great starters! The Königsberge Klopse are top. All the food is very rich so be warned! Loses one star for the side eye attitude we got on the way out while asking for a glass of tap water (after spending €200!
