Feedback
On a recent trip to Germany (now I still feel in the jet lag), Transit was one of my favorite dining experiences in Berlin. The ambience was welcoming but eclectic covered with the ceiling with hanging colorful bird cages, and the way the restaurant is decorated with a long series of tables on the wall felt quite authentic. We were also super satisfied with the prices, with most tapas, apart from the 8 euro special plates, were only 3 euros per piece. In the states, each plate would run slightly 10 12 dollars, so it seemed like a bargain to eat here. They were really busy on a Saturday night, but the two of us were sitting in 15 minutes, so it really wasn't bad. If you have a big party, you'll definitely make some ressies. The menu (which came with English subtitles) was quite diverse and had something for everyone. For both of us we ordered: crispy veggieknödel, coconut curry chicken, Calamari, crispy chicken spring rolls, rice bean pastry wrapped chicken / vegetables, such as duck tequitos, rice noodles with chicken and vegetables, and one side rice. Now these dishes were called completely different at some point than what I just called them FYI. The crunchy Veggie dumplings were served in a part of 3 with some avocado diving sauce, which was essentially Asian inspired Guac, and they were frigging delicious. The bowl was crispy and the filling was tasteful and fresh... and the Asian Guac was one of my favorite parts of each of the dishes. The coconut curry chicken was simply ok, probably the least favorite of what we have ordered, especially because the cuts of chicken used were less than desirable and there was a variety of dark and fat meat used. The Calamari was delish, and for me to say that is huge, as I'm just partake in seafood often, but this stuff had some amazing taste on it and was super crispy and not chew at all. They also use small whole squids, so it does not all the fried rings as I used to. The crispy chicken feathers were served as 3 and I liked them personally, but Boyf thought they were just fine. They were crispy and not oily and the interior had small pieces of chicken and chopped veggies as you expect. I didn't try the duck, but it was fantastic. The chicken and rice noodles were the most important dish we ordered and during the tasty, was nothing special or anything different from dishes that I can order in any Thai restaurant. The rice bean pastry wrapped chicken / vegetables was one of my favorite things we ordered and unlike anything I had. I expected a bun, but it was like a noodle sluice, almost the consistency of a canton to a delicious collective of minced meat and vegetables. I didn't like what we ordered and thought everything was really good and delicious. For Dessert we tried to use the Yelp check in the offer of 1 Euro from the Pana-Citta, but they were outside so that we got a kind of green tapioca. It was fine, not something I would probably get out of myself, but pleasant for a few bites. Totally recommend to try transit!
