The place, view and decoration were super nice! The food taste was also good but it could be bigger. But in general, it was an excellent experience, thanks!!
Excellent food, lovely people, cool location and vibe
The chairs and tables are old and scratched. Waiting for drinks takes 20-30 minutes, the DJ plays **** from the music, the music has no sense, cocktails are too expensive.

As very negative we felt that we had to sit at the table on uncomfortable unpadded wooden stools. In the meantime, the service had disappeared for some time, and she apologized to us. After the plan of the bar, we should have cleared our table at some point, it didn't happen. Garderobe was probably down in the entrance area, that was not ours, but in the bar area there was nothing to hang, as I said, also no chair rest. The fact that a lady sitting in the toilet, who had a plate for money, I find a nausea at these drinks prices.

We were recommended by this restaurant for three reasons: First, to be one of the most originals of the whole city by being located on the 15th floor of a building; second, for its good quality and normal price meal; and, third, for its chill-out atmosphere. You can reach this area, where there are many more locals, taking well the U-Bahn (lowing at the Kochstrasse stop, near Friedrichstrasse) or the S-Bahn (low at the Anhalter Bahnhof stop). Once we arrived in the building we called the bell and a girl opened the door asking if we had a reservation. We answered that if and then I let us pass. Once inside on the left hand there is an empty room with the detail of several medusas in fluorescent blue hanging from the ceiling and on the right a wardrobe (free). After leaving our coats they tell us that we must go back to the street to head to an adjoining goal. The same girl who attended us at first gives us access and then we went up in an elevator to the 15th floor. When our surprise came it was that suddenly they put us through a rather cutre door to a restaurant decorated in a minimalist plan, with great music and vertigo views of the whole city. We were approached by a girl to ask ourselves how many people we were and in which languages we were talking, so she told us who would be our waiter, who by the way spoke Spanish-Italian-English. We ordered the drinks and then as we enjoyed the dinner we were surprised because we saw how the Dj of being on our same floor began to move along with all his paraphernalia to the top floor. Something we found very original too. The atmosphere is fine and especially if you like the locals with a bit of morbid roll is your ideal place. Here you see authentic characters. Then we went to the top taking the elevator that is outside the facade and went up to the 16th floor, where we already drank for a while. The smoking area by the way has as beds for those who want to relax even more. The decoration on this floor is also very good, with some of the armchairs literally hanging from the ceiling as if they were swings. An excellent night.
Following the recommendation and as we were close, we decided to try this restaurant and the surprise was not pleasant, but exceptional!!! It's a bit smooth to find the entrance because it's not on the same street or there's no indication of the place. You reach the door by access to an outdoor parking which is very close to the entrance to the S-Bahn. In any case it is the only really high building that you see in the square, so by looking a little it is easy to see the portal/reception to the background with the simple SOLAR logo. We went on a Saturday without reservation and we had to wait a bit, but it is convenient to book. They serve you at the reception, where the wardrobe is (free, just tip) and from there you take an outside elevator to the penultimate floor where the restaurant is. The menu is not very extensive and the dishes are not especially abundant, but exquisitely elaborated. Unbelievable city views, modern and minimalist decoration, excellent treatment, prices around 30-40€ (less if you don't drink wine or alcohol). The menu of drinks and cocktails is extensive and varied. On the last floor is the club. Live music with very good DJ's (chill out, electro, techno, dance, atmosphere....nothing of commercial or fashion music) and there is a smoking area. Everything is exterior and overlooking the city. It's worth it for a special night!

It was a bit loud the rest was very excellent
The view is great. The appetizer was very tasty, the main course of healing butter with clams did not convince me even though the halibut was very tender. The toilets were very dark, 1 out of 3 ladies toilets was not lockable. We didn't really perceive the DJ that we found very bad.
The service and food are really great and absolutely recommended! We were there as a couple and sat unfortunately between two more tables, which is quite narrow. Especially since one of the tables was a 3 tables table and the conversations were therefore somewhat louder. But you get used to the sound level during the evening and the evening in the solar remains a great experience!
Very long waiting times. Booked 21 o'clock! First get 21.45 free table. Get drinks for free. Ambience is cool, the food tastes but there are no big portions
An unforgettable dinner on the rooftops of Berlin. The food was unique. We had the Sharing menu for two. Very recommended. Staff very friendly and pleasant. Not intrusive. The atmosphere very stylish with a unique view, from our table to Alexander Platz. We can recommend the Solar Bar for an unforgettable evening and will definitely come back.
