It's impossible to find any fault with this majestic restaurant in Berlin. David, the owner, is so welcoming, and a genuinely nice guy. Nicolas, the restaurant manager, is equally genuine and welcoming. For a restaurant which is more chic than others in the area, these guys are so down-to-earth, and aim to please. Manu, the superstar sommelier, is an absolute gem. Manu's knowledge of wine is second to none and his banter is brilliant. These guys are awesome, and for a more elegant and classy restaurant, I always feel warmly welcomed at Schwein. For me, it's right up there with Michelin-star restaurants I've frequented in London. This first-class restaurant is an absolute must!

We visited on a Monday night - it was busy so it must be very popular - you might want to book if you plan to go. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, staff seemed friendly, apparently they do a fine range of gin and tonics and I had a very pleasant sparkling Riesling. My poached egg starter was pretty much raw and the flavour combinations didn't work for me, but I'm told the ceviche was very good. The main course arrived about 50 minutes after the first course had been cleared. The lamb I ordered had, by now, Surprise! Surprise! metamorphosed into beef cheek which wasn't on the menu and was served pretty much on a take it or leave it basis. So we took it, were charged for it and didn't hang around for dessert.

Its a great place on a side road of InvalidenstrasseIts a true gem, and you must go now, before its all over the press.started up with a creviche and a cold soup.We had the fish and the pig, latter was 15h in the oven at low temp and really yummy. soft. Cremant came along, rare from Jura. ended with a port and two desserts, whereby one of them - a tart was particularly innovative.Great team, made us feel welcome and gave me a great feel to spent my money well and joyful.

I and my girlfriend were in Germany in new years eve we went to this restorer. We paid before, but when we came, we said we hadn't paid and had to pay again. We thought fair, we got the money back when they get the money from the bank. They told us they'd send it back. We ate our food in the restorer (not very good service) and had a good night. When we left, we were told again that they would return it when they got the money from the bank. Fast to 3 Jan. I spoke to my bank and they couldn't get the money back. That's why I wrote to the restaurant and they answered that they got the money and sent it to a PayPal account. I have no PayPal, so I ask Them to send it to my bank, and that's the last thing I hear from Them. I have tried to make calls to Them and write on email satellite times now with no luck.... No place to go for someone!

We have 5 dishes of New Year's menu set in advance. This makes expectations extra high, as everything can be prepared. The dishes were really disappointing and taste and composition were bad. I took two bites of each plate and... had to give up, eat. My friend, the cook, did not understand the dishes and even had a hard time to eat. The couple sitting next to us could not like the food... 2 of 5 dishes were served on various dishes. It took 3.5 hours to serve 5 dishes... we didn't get the offer of wine menu and found out that this was an option too late... several palate we even had to pour wine, as the waiters had overlooked the empty glass. .. this experience was disappointing in all numbers and mega annoying when it is new year and the price does not correspond to quality ...
