What Dejuan Heidenreich dislikes about Privatbrauerei Schalander:
My husband and I stayed in the area and decided to pop down to this little place for dinner. We've been twice now, the first time the pork schnitzel was moist, the second time not so much. Both times the breading needed a little salt (and being salt-sensitive I don't say it that much). I also got the Kasespaetzle with bacon which was good but I grew up eating it with a vinegar-based tomato salad which helped cut the... View all feedback.

The Haus der Familie Berlin is another fantastic Braupub in the beautiful Berlin Friedrichshain. This is a brewery where I have been having many opportunities for years and getting better and better on every visit. On foot and you know your in a...big place, a beautiful white, untouched interior with great decor and decor, including a cool looking serving bar and many seating possibilities spread over this Braupub both inside and out on the busy and busy streets around this Schalander home brewery. We were here on a roasted hot Saturday afternoon, this place just began to do with a great atmosphere and after a quick study of beers on offer we both decided to have one of their pils-style beers, these were served in top top condition cold and sparkling and we were only cooled and in the big brewpub we were in. My beer was exceptional, a hoppy, well balanced beer with taste and very easy to drink and a beer style I really enjoyed, my twin brother Stephen also gave the thumbs to his beer. During this visit, I cannot really comment on the meals, as we were here for drinks, but I have here on numerous occasions over the years and the meals are excellent, proper pub-grub. We really enjoyed our beers here before we went on and like every other visit here we had a great time. The Schalander Hausbrauerei Berlin is very easy to find, we jumped down the subway to stop the Frankfurter Allee, we went down the Frankfurter Gasse and cut to the Pettenkoferstraße and then cut to the Baenschstraße. Opening hours are: Monday to Friday, 5 pm to 1 pm. Saturday, 3:00 to 1:00. Sunday, noon until midnight. A great brewing car and restaurant and a good view.
Great place. From the beaten path. Friendly staff. The number of outdoor seats. 4.5 euros for a pilgrim. Can visit here every day!
It's nice, it's Cosy it's good beer- but don't expect any kind of service or kindness. They are super stressed and unable to manage a regular Saturday. They are rude and play annoiyed plus convince u for another beer before u order food. People...if you don't want to serve food, don't offer it. It's loud and children cry. There are better opportunities in the neighborhood!
I thought we came out of the cold and have a beer and check out the menu at Schalander after visiting the historic Christmas market at RAW. This was the second time that I visited the place, but sad, the first time that I visited the staff seemed to alert me that I sat at the table, this was in the summer of 2017. Three of us sat down and waited to be served. After 10 minutes I made my way to the bar and thought Schalander could have a self-service policy. The waiter obviously saw me, but didn't recognize me obviously busy, I thought. When I went to other tables, I realized that Schalander had a table service policy back to my table. We waited 10 minutes, then in our despair we tried to cry, cry, nothing caught the attention of the man behind the bar. We just got up, left and went somewhere else on Simon Dach Straße (Primitiv Bar). The food and beer may be great in Schalander, I wouldn't know the service stinks!

Both times the breading needed a little salt...(and being salt-sensitive I don't say it that much). I also got the Kasespaetzle with bacon which was good but I grew up eating it with a vinegar-based tomato salad which helped cut the heaviness of the cheese. I missed that, but it was still decent. Waitstaff is attentive and we never had to wait long for a table. There is a smoking room for those who wish to have a cigarette with dinner.
