The place is good, I really mean. The only thing it does is the pizza. I see people coming out of there, that seems to be okay. The pasta...

Wonderful restaurant! We did not see exactly what we wanted on the menu, so the waitress made suggestions and cooked dinner to suit our taste. Unlike the noisy Graffiti restaurant next door, Rocco was quiet and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Alongside the Graffiti Café on Adenauerplatz, this place advertises itself as a pizza/pasta ristorante but looks like just a regular cheap eatery with oodles of pavement tables spreading into the pleasant square. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the food, however, especially at these prices. As seems to be the trend in these parts, the starter and dessert menus are short on choice but there are plenty of main dishes to go at. After a long day traipsing around Berlin's history, I opted for three staple courses: tomato soup (€4), spaghetti bolognese (€7) and tiramisu (€6.50).The depth and richness of the obviously homemade starter were both unexpected and delightful. Hints of basil and some flat leaf parsley, along with a swirl of double cream - delicious. When the main arrived, it wasn't as generous as that served next door but any Italian would agree that the pasta was gorgeous, fresh and al dente, smothered in a meaty ragout. (OK, so Italians barely recognise bolognese as one of their dishes but I loved it.) I've had better and cheaper tiramisu but you can't argue that this one was pretty decent and came surrounded by slices of mixed fruit including watermelon, raspberries, strawberries and redcurrants. With two drinks on top, the total came to €24.50 and it was worth every penny. I'd like to go back and sample their pizza - which seemed very popular - or perhaps even a steak.

When you order an appetizer and main course, the correct way is to serve the appetizer first and then the main course. We ordered the appetizer first because we were hungry and wanted to speed things up, but he did it completely wrong, taking a long time and bringing everything together. Besides that, the meat dish only came with mayonnaise. I've never seen a side dish ordered separately.
