Our appetizer – crispy tofu with peanut sauce – was delicious and raised our... read more At first glance, Pho Co Restaurant appears inviting and has a slightly Asian flair. Our appetizer – crispy tofu with peanut sauce – was delicious and raised our hopes for a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, the main course failed to live up to these expectations. While the wonton noodle soup with shrimp and meat filling tasted good, the shrimp flavor was barely discernible. Even more disappointing were the crispy rice noodles in a savory stir-fry sauce with king oyster mushrooms, tofu, etc. What we were served were overcooked noodles, more reminiscent of Pad Thai, and there was no sign of any king oyster mushrooms. When we inquired, the server explained that the kitchen had not been offering this dish in a crispy version for some time now and that the king oyster mushrooms were included in the sauce. Whether this meant they were pureed, powdered, or simply omitted remained unclear. The fact that such changes aren 't communicated and the menu still promises a completely different version is simply unacceptable to me as a customer. I felt cheated at that moment. Honest information before ordering would have been the bare minimum. Three stars is already generous for this experience.
