I am usually one who avoids Greek restaurants past the Greek borders, because disappointment constituted the rule for as long as I can remember.Lack of care, lack of the right ingredients, lack of…well, you just name it.I went there recently with a couple that enjoys a good and well prepared meal, the same way I do.When they said Greek Restaurant, I hesitated.Admittedly I am glad they changed my mind and encouraged me to try it out with them. You can get the Greek out of Greece, but you cant get Greece out of a Greek. So when visiting a Greek restaurant, you keep in mind that it will be a noisy night. The question is to what level.Ousies isn’t small, but does get full come dinnertime. So a reservation is highly recommended. And be prepared that no matter what table you get, chances are it´s going to be a challenge fitting everything on it.We had a Greek salad with feta (which means slice btw.), a mixed starters plate for two, which was enough for three and some toasted bread with olive oil.I had a Mousaka, which is one of my most favourite of Greek dishes.Delightful! So instead of going into detail, I’ll just say this.Nothing that was cocked and I had the pleasure of trying was differentl or of lesser quality than in Greece.Sure, the tomatoes and cucumbers tasted as they always do in Germany, but that is hardly something to complain about. As a dessert we had Loukoumades with honey. They made them fresh and I really tried hard to eat them all, but I was just too fool from the starters and the main course. The prices may be a bit on the high side, but the portions are generous, or in other words, Greek. The service is polite, but perhaps a bit understaffed. All in all I can highly recommend it if you want good Greek food and the ambience to match.
Very tasty and authentic Greek food! The staff is also Greek and the atmosphere just like in a real Greek "taverna". Highly recommended! Only disadvantage: unfortunately only cash payment possible, even if the bill is high.
We've been there with some Greek friends, and we all enjoyed it. Truth to be said, it is quite noisy and chaotic, so do not go there for a romantic dinner. Pay attention that dishes are BIG, so you might consider ordering a bit less, to start with.
We visited Taverna Ousia for dinner and were absolutely delighted with our experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and authentic Greek ambiance made us feel right at home. The restaurant strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant — ideal for a relaxed dinner with friends or a special night out. The menu was full of delicious traditional Greek dishes, and everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. Portions were generous, and we especially enjoyed sharing several plates so we could taste a variety of specialties. A big shout-out to our waiter, who was incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the evening. He offered great recommendations, checked in often without being intrusive, and made sure our drinks and food arrived perfectly timed. His service truly elevated our night and made the dinner unforgettable — thanks to him! Overall, we had a fantastic evening, great food, and excellent service. We’re already planning our next visit and highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a memorable Greek dinner in Berlin!
Early December 2021; a friend of mine and I went without a reservation. We were given a table, and informed that we had to leave two hours later. The food was average, somewhat overpriced but the red wine was good, The waiter actually came to...our table and asked us to leave, like 'now '. We still had wine/beer to finish, as well as water. In addition, 2/3 of the tables were still available. An understanding waiter would have allowed us to finish at least the drinks, and give us 15 Minutes to wrap up. In addition, the place is noisy!
