I have the feeling food portions used to be bigger. This time i didn’t felt completely full after my ramen. But therefore I find the prices too high to order something else to that. Is a shame because it used to be more fulfilling. Also just half egg? Why not to give an egg per person? : Anyways… the person giving the places was also not very friendly. But I really like the presentation of the ramen and also the noodles are great
Really cool restaurant with an amazing kaninchenrüken stuffed with wild blood sausage.

Found this on a recommendation from the owner of Little Ottik. We had returned to Little Ottik one night as we really enjoyed it (and the owner is from Detroit like us , but he didn't have any openings. So we asked him where he'd eat and he recommended Nansen. So glad he did. The food and service was great! We ate outside--it's right on the canal, in a quiet area of Berlin. Staff spoke great English (sorry, my German is passable, but not great. and was very efficient and friendly. Every course was wonderful. Appetizers--an amazing yellow pepper soup that was so flavorful. (5.20 Euro Entrees--lamb (19.80 E that tasted like lamb. And perfectly cooked venison (23E . This was some of the best food we had in Berlin. Deserts shouldn't be passed up--it's like this is a 3* restaurant in hiding. If we lived in Berlin, this would be our favorite place. Not stuffy or too fancy--just a great location, great food and great service.
In my view, Nansen is by far the best restaurant in the area. The menu is short and interesting. The atmosphere is relaxed. One can enjoy excellent food without a snobby hassle around it. I've been here four times over the last months and I was happy every time.
I've been to Nansen at least 3 times and have always had an enjoyable evening there. They have some nice cocktails, the food is always fresh and inventive and the service is usually friendly. It has a nice laid back atmosphere, even when it's packed.
Fantastic authentic cuisine, very locals vibe, and the staff will help you translate the daily updated menu!
They had two vegetarian options, we chose the one with lentils, zucchini flower stuffed with pumpkin and a piece of cheese. It both tasted and looked delicious. Great flavors and quite ordinary! All their dishes seemed to have an extra thought behind them, and the combinations very different than you usually see in restaurants. The Service was friendly and laid back. The restaurant itself had a cozy bar area, but the restaurant part could have had better lights they were a little too bright for my taste. The prices were above the average Berlin restaurant, therefor giving it a 4 star.

For my last night in Berlin, I wanted to think elsewhere. I'm sure I'm glad I'm going to Nansen. Small, intimate, candle table...
