The tasting menu was very nice. Interesting flavours, attention to detail, and I cannot fault the execution at all. The staff is friendly too. It isn’t a bargain for Berlin standards but also not exorbitant for what you are getting. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place View all feedback.
What Mariana R doesn't like about Mrs. Robinson's:
The food was nice. Some things were truly flavoursome and some were ok but forgettable. The service was great (which is surprising as the restaurant is owned by the same person who owns Cafe Frieda, whose service is TERRIBLE and the staff super friendly. The vibe is really cool. However, the prices are insane. I paid 175€ for the set menu, the extra octopus and 2 glasses of wine. I have paid less in restaurants with... View all feedback.
Wonderful eclectic dining. Staff knew menu intimately and gave friendly helpful suggestions
Here is the thing. We have been to Mrs. Robinsons four times. After the first three times, we concluded that this was our favourite place in Berlin. The menue was sensational, with seasonal ingredients combined in the most creative way. The last visit however, was underwhelming. We understood that because of the small size of the kitchen, they had to drop their set menue and start serving a la carte. Overall this shift felt as if we got a lot less for our money than during the first three visits. On top of that, at this particular evening, the staff felt scattered and not very attentive. We will come back regardless, assuming this was a glitch and that we'll be wowed again in the future. Based on the average of four visits, we are still giving Mrs. Robinson's four stars but if this had been our only visit, the rating would look very different.
Mrs. Robinson’s lived up to all of my high expectations that were set by prior reviews. The food was fantastic creative, high quality, well executed. We ordered four dishes fried chicken with tobiko and trout row in a cayenne honey sauce (I love spicy and sweet together! , fantastic charred octopus and beef fat skewer, luscious short ribs with mustard green and edible white flowers, and the best grilled crayfish I’ve ever had and were hard pressed to pick our favorite because they were all so delicious. Cocktails and wines by the glass were equally good. The service was very good they were quite busy and apologized at the end of our meal for not spending more time with us, but everything was perfectly attentive. And the atmosphere is charming too not quiet, but certainly not too loud as some others have suggested, and they kept the dining room comfortably spaced rather than cram in three more tables, which they easily could and many other hot restaurants who are reserved well In advance would. I am in Berlin for three weeks and despite all the amazing choices here I will certainly be dining here again before I leave. That’s the best compliment I can give.
All dishes were amazing to feel the natural taste of the ingredients. We were touched by the delicate and sensuous care of Robinson’s staffs. It was so delicious and I want to visit again. Thank you Kars!
Chic, open kitchen setting offering elevated European cuisine with asian twists. Simple, fresh local ingredients, rich flavors and elegant plating. On the pricier end but worth the taste and ambiance.
