Came here for a birthday meal so we were looking for something a bit special and didn't mind paying a bit more than average. Food and service were both top notch. I had the mussels au gratin, stuffed quail, and pistachio crème brûlée which were all fantastic especially the mussels. The waiters were very attentive but not overbearing, and the in-house Sommelier helped us choose a great wine. I would definitely come here again on a special occasion

The food was delicious and the staff extremely friendly. The desserts were especially exceptional.

Mastan — Yann Mastantuono’s Bistro Miracle in Kreuzberg Gneisenaustraße 67, 10961 Berlin Berlin offers countless places to eat, yet only a rare few to truly dine. Mastan knows the difference — and reminds us why the ritual of dining still matters. A French bistro of rare integrity, it begins with the essentials: immaculate tablecloths, the crunch of a real baguette, and that quiet sense of ceremony that Berlin too often forgets. From the first glance, you know you’re in the hands of someone who learned the craft where precision still matters — and indeed, chef Yann Mastantuono hails from the temples of Alain Ducasse’s Michelin world. His cuisine is a hymn to mastery and restraint — Mediterranean in light, Parisian in rigor. Dishes arrive glowing with care: Miesmuscheln in Safran with chickpeas, Pimentón de la Vera and tarragon — a golden, fragrant opening movement. Luftgetrockneter Lomo « Cœur de Longe » — so tasty, rich, and perfectly coated, a capsule of blood-red desire — served with a delicate anchovy mayonnaise that deepens the spell. Dry-aged Côte de Bœuf, 600 grams of perfectly bleu heaven, with Pommes Frites and your choice of Sauce Béarnaise or Pfefferrahmsoße — both sublime. And for the encore: Zwetschgen-Clafoutis and a Mousse au Chocolat made with Nicolas Berger’s Madagascar 75% — dark, elegant, and dangerously good. The wine selection is exclusively French, thoughtful and precise. A Côte du Rhône by Saint Cosme paired deliciously — with a charming and harmonious simplicity between the cour and the côte. With the perfumed, properly acidic muscheln, we wisely stayed with sparkling water — the match was already perfect. The service runs on timing, precision, and light, effective delivery — discreet, confident, and well-synchronized with the kitchen. Next Wednesday we return for the legendary Bouillabaisse, reportedly the finest in Berlin — reservations mandatory, anticipation unavoidable. Mastan is a small place with the soul of a grand house. A resplendent jewel in Berlin’s culinary crown. Chapeau bas, Maestro Mastantuono — bravo!
