Was Harry Hermann at Masel Topf a mag?
we enjoyed beautiful hummus, falafel. fried auberginen, fried oliven and much more. we sat outside, which is beautiful, directly opposite the synagogue and the quiet part of prenzlauer all mountain. View all feedback.
What Dorothee Böhme dislikes about Masel Topf:
as we are in berlin and it is a Jewish restaurant, the thema would like to fill more. instead it was discreet when eating, that was delicious and with a really perfect laugh! The facility could have been almost any kind of restaurant and with a farm like any other beer garden, only the menu and the name was talking about what there was beautiful .. this restaurant separated from the neighboring restaurant.Sweet, somet... We were quite curious about the Israeli food experience, but we left very disappointed. The food was very blend, not much flavors. Even Bbq was missing a 'thing ', not well cooked meat, half cold. We will not come back
I used to go there years ago. It got worse. Untrained personnel, non set table (we barely got a glass, some cutlery and a chipped dish. Meager). Hummus was evidently supermarket stuff. The rest was decent, certainly not the good level one would expect in a...restaurant in the city center from a country with a good culinary culture. I had a special request (which I mentioned in the input field Special requests proposed by their oonline booking system) which got regularly ignored. They got one cutomer less, so they don 't have to bear the burden to keep those grumpy faces. Food culture is definitely else.
We read the positive reviews about Masel Top and booked as a result. When we arrived we were given a large table for six right at the back of the restaurant and were promptly forgotten. It was 15 minutes and some frantic signalling to the...waiter before we got our drinks order in. Then when the food arrived, it was ages before our plates were cleared. No one asked us if the food was OK, (it was), and then no one asked us if we would like puddings. So we left. The maitre d, was standing by the door when we left and didn't even say goodbye. It was a real shame, as the food was good and the lady playing the piano was fantastic. In contrast to our evening before at Katz Orange where staff could not have been more attentive, it was a real let down.
The food was mediocre, but overpriced. The wait times were significantly too long—both for the food and for service. Some of the staff were unfriendly or disinterested. Particularly annoying: Two-thirds of the sidewalk in front of the restaurant is already blocked with tables and chairs, and plants and signs are also being placed on the narrow remaining space. Pedestrians, parents with strollers, and people with disabilities can barely get through. Completely inconsiderate.
