What Dorothee Böhme doesn't like about Masel Topf:
as we are in berlin and it is a Jewish restaurant, the thema would like to fill more. instead it was discreet when eating, that was delicious and with a really perfect laugh! The facility could have been almost any kind of restaurant and with a farm like any other beer garden, only the menu and the name was talking about what there was beautiful .. this restaurant separated from the neighboring restaurant.Sweet, somet... Great food. Really great food. Lovely dining outside. Good amount of vegan options. Piano playing. Would definitely return.
Is not worth a visit. The service depended on the cell phone and read messages and was not friendly. eat cold and too expensive for the prtions. The waiter should be ashamed to treat guests like this
The server greeted us (a party of 4) in English, and kept responding to us in English even though we adressed him all the time in perfectly good German (be it not native). The food was generally good and the place has potential, however I...will not return there because of this attitude, which made me feel unwelcome.
We were quite curious about the Israeli food experience, but we left very disappointed. The food was very blend, not much flavors. Even Bbq was missing a 'thing ', not well cooked meat, half cold. We will not come back
We read the positive reviews about Masel Top and booked as a result. When we arrived we were given a large table for six right at the back of the restaurant and were promptly forgotten. It was 15 minutes and some frantic signalling to the...waiter before we got our drinks order in. Then when the food arrived, it was ages before our plates were cleared. No one asked us if the food was OK, (it was), and then no one asked us if we would like puddings. So we left. The maitre d, was standing by the door when we left and didn't even say goodbye. It was a real shame, as the food was good and the lady playing the piano was fantastic. In contrast to our evening before at Katz Orange where staff could not have been more attentive, it was a real let down.
