Mamsell - Berlin

We just loved the ambience of the place - quiet & relaxed, lovely decor, quirk... read more During our 4 week stay in Berlin we must have visited Mamsell's at least 5 times! We just loved the ambience of the place - quiet & relaxed, lovely decor, quirky gifts available as well as yummy chocolate treats and friendly staff. BUT the number one treat was the thick hot chocolate drink, which is served with a variety of peppers and spices one grates over the chocolate before scooping it up for a taste delight; certainly something to take one's time over. Quite missed this treat on our return home!Of course, the tarts and cakes are superb as well - try the strawberry kuchen or the chocolate tart BOTH excellent and the reason we had to keep going back to try the different treats on offer. Should our travels take us back to Berlin we will be making a bee-line to Mamsell's.

I love her, I love her! I was there for the first time in January 2009 and since then I come every time when I go to berlin, not to go back there!First of all, the place: clean, bright, with a very warm atmosphere. Right and at the theke, before the entrance, cake and many tasty things, pralines and bonbons of all kinds (ab 1 euro). the local is very small, with a few tables outside and 4 inside (of which one is very desirable because of the extra comfortable two-seater leather sofa). I have always taken the "thick liquid chocolate" so the thick drink chocolate, practically a melted dark bar ... delirium!!!! Moreover, the two very nice owners take care of the appearance of the place and the products: therefore, the above-mentioned chocolate is served together with a small piece of chocolate and a glass of water on a small tablet, and a dozen flavored glasses with which they can enrich the taste (they are also sold). the cakes are typical berline, so huge and tasty (I tried the one with poppy and johannisbeeren, fantastic) and there is also to take. the thick chocolate costs about 3.5 euro and is worth it all. the best chocolate shop of all time!!! ps in a small room next to the restaurant there are many jewellery and small things for house and kitchen, very nice

In addition, you can purchase small accessories in a next-space: excellently equipped for a small break in the kiez von schönberg!
