Restaurant is on the 14 floor with a very nice look over the skyline over Berlin. De staff was very friendly en did their job perfect. The food was very nice but not in line with the pricing. For that we expected more exclusive food with more flavor bombs .
It was for my wedding anniversary and the resturant was perfect for this. We had a wonderful time and the food was really outstanding. i will come again for a special occasion
This restaurant was such a treat. The menu goes crescendo in terms of execution and taste. We are not dessert folks, and we couldn't stop raving about how good and balanced the dessert was. The intermission could have been a tad shorter (max 15min is a good idea. Highly recommended.
The star chef and book author Thomas Kammeier was significantly involved in the concept of the restaurant (from 2003). He also created the Michelin star for his place. So with his farewell, an era ends. But there will be no break: His deputy Eberhard Lange takes over the lead. Thomas Kammeier first learned the profession of baker. But that didn't fill him out and he concluded a lesson to the cook. After that, his way led him through some well-known houses like Landhaus Scherrer and Hummerstübchen. Since 1996 he worked in Berlin at Interconti; at the restaurant Zum Hugenotten and finally the new HUGOS has been leading since its foundation. Eberhard Lange has been Deputy Chef of Thomas Kammeier since 1998.
The start had a few bumps when they did not bring a vegetarian menu or explain that due to one vegetarian we could only have the six course option.even though I informed well in advance, Only 2 things I do not eat and one was on the menu but no recognition until I reminded them. I had a champagnes and as husband does not like it he politely refused and then sat without a drink for at least 45 minutes as nothing else offered. No wine menu brought until we asked. It then went very smoothly with great service and food. Drinks are expensive €12 for a 75cl water and €31 for a small glass of champagne is the most I have paid and I have eaten in hundreds of Michelin restaurants. Maybe we were just unlucky at the start and so if you like nice food give it a try
