No problems with the seating and the ambience of the place looked very nice, however, with a decent festive spirit and the place reasonably full and quite noisy the singer was completely un necessary. In fact, the singer ended up competing with the wait staff as they could hardly hear to take the orders. At least that’s what I’m blaming my experience on asked for a well done steak (yeah, heresy to some people, I know, but hey that’s how I want it), but unfortunately got rare/medium rare. Tried to get the wait staff’s attention but again this was foiled by both the singer and the now pretty full restaurant so ended up leaving most of it. When the plates were cleared I was asked ‘was your steak OK’ had to reply, ‘well it’s not what I could call a well done steak...’, and to be fair they removed it from the bill. The rest of the food was OK but nothing special and probably ended up as the worse meal we had in Berlin during the week we were there. Two suggestions to the restaurant train your chefs in cooking well done steaks (they can be really tasty if done properly and see some of my other reviews for places that do this) and secondly, make a point of always checking in with the diners during the course of the meal rather than only at the end in case they can’t get your attention. A shame really wanted to like it especially on one of the biggest nights of the European Christmas calendar.

The restaurant and it's quality was touted and to be fair the food did not disappoint. While the cuisine was on par and hit the right notes, it was the most disappointing of dining experiences. If a restaurant of it's callibar is unable to provide the same dining experience to it's patrons then, by all means, do them the courtesy of not granting their reservation. As the second diners to arrive that evening we were seated rather near one of their entrances right in front of the wine chiller. In our time there our table was bumped by staff no fewer than on three occassions and myself, thrice as well. Despite the seating arrangement, the service was good but lacking in experience and those nuances which substantiate their premium tariffs. Firstly, the wrong drink was communicated by the waitstaff. What arrived was quite good and of exhibited superior mixology, it was incorrect and not compliment the dish ordered. The lack of crockery when shared dishes were served, not removing wine classes when individuals did not partake in vino and invariable abscence of spice offerings i.e. fresh pepper, sea salt for side dishes despite the rather grandiose grinders being just meters away. With the seating arrangements and diluted dining experience as they were, we didn't even make it to dessert, not that the option was offered, for lack of attention by waitstaff. All in all, the potential is recognized in this well anointed eatery, however, I'll not be a returning patron as we were made to feel like after-thoughts. Management needs to work on getting the small things right to earn satisfactory accolades. Berlin's culinary scene offers better options.
