Who would have thought that such a nice place existed in Neukölln, clean and fresh and stands clearly above many of the other eateries in the area. I am very thankful to my friend that introduced me to this place. We were here for coffee, cakes and a catch up. The cakes looked and tasted home made also. Our waitress, was lovely. Extremely friendly and pleasant. Its the small touches, like making a customer feel welco... View all feedback.
What Ralph Gottschalk doesn't like about Hallmann & Klee:
We had a dinner in this place, which grabbed our attention from outside. The restaurant looks nice, however we were immediately impressed by the high prices. We decided to stay, thinking that it might have deserved a trial. Dishes were unconventional, but unfortunately not in a positive manner, especially considering the price. The personal was nice however we were not satisfied with the overall experience. View all feedback.

One of the nice things when living in Berlin has always been, that you could simply go to some area Kietz and find something new every time. Yesterday we Family of three were pretty hungry after the swimming pool and being anyway around...Böhmisches Dorf thought that the Hallmann Klee would be a good place for an relaxed celebration for life, ourselves, the day and a lush summer evening. In good mood we asked for a table. Mustering our somewhat leisurely attire C 'mon... the chef du table like all service personell female, all in black would present us first on the street, without asking us in with the menu, which looked attractive. Disappointed that the pricing would not serve as deterrent, she would tell us that a table could be prepared and we should wait still standing on the street . After five minutes I dared driven by the my daughter 17 grumpiness you know how they are when hungry to ask, whether the table was ready and yes in deed it was. Probably already for a while. Just forgotten that we were waiting... I of cause had myself to ask my party into the place and we would not be shown to the table but just pointed to it. Back there... After this Welcome which was for a Restaurant with high class aspirations pretty substandard, since so many basics of polite hospitality had been disregarded, my moods were already a little grumpy... I therefore choose to use that great feature of German which is the polite address under grown ups Sie towards the service, in order to express that I felt somehow alienated by the treatment received. Of cause this was as well disregarded or probably just unnoticed and three different waitresses were addressing a guest who was using the politeness form of German towards them with the in this situation certainly highly discourteous Du ... And NO: It is no Excuse that this is Neuköln when addressed with a Sie by a guest, you just do not respond with a Du except you want to express that the addressed person is your subordinate The Menu of the Day was 1 Mozzarella with radish slices ok unfortunately radish looses its delicious sharpness quickly when being in marinade for to long, being to old, or the kind of radish chosen was simply to mild to be a counterpoint to the mozzarellas mildness which could not be made up for by the Balsamico . 2 Veal with Potatomash and a piece of spring onion ok the veal was well chosen, but for my taste not well enough fried and generally not very tender of cause we would not be asked for our preferences the spring onion was sautéed and the Potato was ... hm ... a Potato. 3 Crème Brûlée Excellent this was a perfect Crème Brûlée! Period. easily one of the best I ever had! Our wine was an interesting Bio Sylvaner by Stefan Vetter. TLTR: If you are from the city and can choose: Rather go to a place were you are welcome. If you happen to be a Tourist and used to substandard hospitality and manners of service: Take the Crème Brûlée and run! If you would like to have a good time there are plenty of places around with only slightly worse food but much friendlier and politer service. After this somehow suboptimal evening I checked the local newspaper Tagesspiegel and found, that already two years ago the found the grumpyness and manners of the personell, the mediocre approach of the kitchen and the pretentiousness of the place to be a disappointing mix.
The best breakfast I had in the last year. The fact that you should reserve a table if you want to have breakfast here on a Sunday morning also says something. At the 9.30 opening people are already lining up. The bread and the pastries...are freshly baked, the juice freshly pressed, the coffee freshly brewed. There is a wide variety of choices from sweet to salty. From pastries to pancakes, to eggs in any form. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would be a regular here for sure!
Had lunch here with friends, was very good! Had bread/ salad and was so good! Would come back here for lunch or breakfast.
