We were a party of 5 and had dinner, when we got the check and wanted to pay with the credit card we were told to our surprise “only cash”! We were visiting fro... read more We were a party of 5 and had dinner, when we got the check and wanted to pay with the credit card we were told to our surprise “only cash”! We were visiting from Latin America and had only a few euros cash with us...for emergencies. The waiter told us that it was posted outside the restaurant no credit cards accepted. I went outside and saw nothing. Then he said, if we wanted to pay with credit card, it Would be an extra 10% surcharge of the total amount! Never heard of something like that! We got really annoyed by then. Then he said, his machine for cards was down anyway. My daughter had to leave and search for an ATM machine. In a city like Berlin you only can pay in cash?? Impossible. Very disappointing and a friend of mine living in Berlin told me that’s a systematic abuse by restaurants to ask only for cash! It’s 2022!!!!

This restaurant has an absolute prime location on the river yet it falls far short of what it could be. The food is bland, poorly executed and completely dated. The decor should have been replaced 29 years ago, plastic tables, faded...umbrellas, and interior decoration that belongs in a museum. The service was ok, nothing special but nothing terrible.

When walking in, it felt like we were in a top end restaurant during the 50s, very old fashioned but in a beautiful way! The food was excellent... I've had Schnitzels all over London, but can finally say I've had a proper German Schnitzel! Service was top class and desserts to die for... will be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
