The most unfriendly service I’ve experienced, even for Berlin standards. Rude and disrespectful. Don’t recommend. Service with an attitude on Olympic level. Fortunately I had witnesses to see how rude I was talked to as a customer. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Little Italian wine bar serving delicious wine and plates. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €10–20
10/10 would come again. Lighting is fantastic but the food is even better. Everyone looks super sexy here. (Maybe because of the lighting) And everything is delicious Price per person: €20–30
I am not sure I would have noticed this bar if it had not been recommended by my Airbnb host. It is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The food and the wine were excellent.
My partner and I went to this small, friendly looking Italian restaurant yesterday. We didn’t have a reservation but the waiter said this wasn’t a problem, so far so good. We ordered the recommended ‘wine of the week’ which was really good, an antipasti platter to start and rigatoni al ragu and penne with raddichio, speck (ham) and mushrooms. The starter was a really good mixture of Italian meats and cheeses. There were also marinated mushrooms, caponata and griddled artichoke hearts. It was really good. We finished our starter and were waiting for the main course, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, and waiting. We waited for almost 40 minutes, still no main dish. Other tables who had arrived after us had had their main dishes. I decided to go to the bar and ask the, so far, friendly Austrian waiter how much longer the food would be. What I got as a reply was: ‘Lady, this ain’t Mcdonalds, you respect the pasta’. Fresh pasta takes 4 minutes to cook and I don’t expect a mouthful of abuse from staff in a restaurant. I had asked politely and this horrible man just went crazy. Our main courses finally arrived, undercooked pasta and microwaved sauce. A massive disappointment. I ate a couple of mouthfuls, it was not ‘al dente’. I’ve spent enough time in Italy to know the difference between undercooked and al dente. Fresh pasta takes 4 minutes, if that to cook. This was not fresh, homemade pasta. We called the waitress over, I explained that the food was not okay and also what the waiter had said to me. He then walked past and said to my partner ‘If she was my girlfriend I would be thinking very carefully’!!!! He then yelled at my partner that he was from Austria not Italy and ‘had been working here for 10 years’, which nobody had mentioned but he seemed to feel it was very important. Needless to say, we paid for what we had already eaten and left. I don’t expect to ever be spoken to like that by anybody. If I were the manager I would have sacked that awful waiter. Don’t bother going to this restaurant because the food is mediocre and badly cooked, my partner and I both had diarrhoea when we got home. The waiter is awful, he doesn’t deserve a job in any kind of restaurant.
