Was Antje Hecht at Coca Eat a mag?
Went here for an intimate concert featuring a jazz singer we know. Ended up having dinner too & didn't regret it. The food is lovely, home cooked & comes in large portions so go hungry. The wild mushroom soup was amazing. The chef forages for them herself. A big tureen of soup so we got 2 full bowls each. The chicken samtimboca was equally delicious & generous. Served with beautiful rosemary roast potatoes. Great pla... View all feedback.

We happened across this place by chance - a true Berliner Jewel, well hidden away!! The food is excellent - really home-made (I saw it!!!) and tastes wonderful. The decor is old-style Berlin - lovely old furniture. Ursula (the boss) regularly has small concerts (the place has only about 35 seats) - often Klezmer. Check out the website. I absolutely love this place - and will become a regular!! Aside - it is located very near the Zionskirche - which is one of the landmarks of the uprising against and end of the GDR-Government in 1989 / 1990... And very close to the historically important Mauermuseum with some remaining segments along the Bernauer Strasse. Believe me - the place is really worth a visit :-) You'll enjoy it (if you're not looking for noise, techno, crowds,...)
