I have to tell you Monday evening lots of restaurant in Berlin has day-off. So to say not easy to find a good one. With a group of people we picked up Bottschaft for a dinner and we were satisfied.Good service, good german food, personaly I have had Koenigsberger-klopse (meatballs) and this was really good.At the end the only problem was payment as they don't accept creditcard, which was strange from a Berlin restaurant, Especially not easy with a group of business people...but we arranged. So don't forget this ;-)
We went with friends to having a nice dinner and....it was really nice! We sat in the wintergarden, where it is allowed to smoke, too. Nice and simple Xmas decoration, Valeria - our waitress - was a nice young girl with a big smile all the time and we four order "Christmas Goose" with red and green cabbage and potatoe "Knödel". What a portion, how good the taste and the red wine of Antinori matched perfectly! We wanted to have a dessert, too, but at the end we could not fit anything else than grappa and cognac.Very nice typical german food restaurant really worth going to. Make sure you reserve in advance, they are most of the time fully booked, especially evenings.
We've passed by the Restauration Bottschaft on several occasions, mostly observing the sculpture of the full-figured bathing suit garbed statute performing a handstand--so cute! The restaurant always looked appealing--outdoor seating, plants, umbrellas, and people enjoying themselves. We stopped for lunch on our last day in Berlin and wished we'd stopped their sooner! My husband had the spare ribs and I had a salad with "weiner schnitzelchen"; both listed on their specials board. It was obvious this place had been there for many years as the interior of the restaurant was filled with all sorts of memorabilia. We were too full for dessert so we'll just have to return when next in Berlin.
