It is not just a takeaway, but also has... read more Basically, Bistro Avci is just one of hundreds of kebap restaurants in Berlin, though somewhat larger than most of them. It is not just a takeaway, but also has a decent sit-in area. The place offers a wider culinary choice than many of its competitors and generally appears to be of higher standard. Thus, in contrast to many kebap restaurants it looks fairly tidy and clean. Its prices correspond to the average, but it does not compete with the cheapest places of this kind.When I returned now several years after my first visit there, I realized that it had kept its standard. Again, I appreciated the tasty Lahmacun with salad filling a lot. Despite the moderate price of 2.50 euros, it was copiously filled with fresh salad and the portion was large. The alternative name “Turkish pizza” for this dish may be misleading because the dough is different from that of a pizza and it is handed out as a roll that resembles a tortilla wrap. It is also available unfilled or with a meat filling.

Abbiamo speso € 6,50 per una mega porzione di stinco con crauti e patatine ed € 1,50 per dell'ottima birra tedesca.Una nota stonata l'aver dovuto gustare questo ottimo piatto all'esterno dell'angusto locale (...per fortuna la temperatura in quei giorni a Berlino non è mai scesa sotto i 2-3°).

Leider gibt es im Friedrichshain zwar hervorragende arabische Imbissläden (Shawarma, Falafel etc.), Hamburger-Bratschmieden und Currywurstbuden aber Döner-Imbisse sind hier zwar reichlich aber leider nur mit unterdurchschnittlicher Qualität zu finden. Alle bieten nur miese Hackfleisch-Döner an, aber AVCI scheint zumindest auf dem Gebiet den anderen noch eine Streichholzlänge voraus zu sein und ist um Welten besser als der Touri-Abzockschuppen an der Warschauer Brücke. Der Service ist OK bis freundlich und der Preis in Ordnung. Salat und Sauce durchschnittlich... und na ja, die Hackfleisch-Streifen lassen sich halt nicht wirklich verbessern, sind aber immer noch besser als die ganz billige und gammlige Version bei Saray!
