Reviews - Venus Berkeley
Reviews summary
Venus is a neighborhood gem with carefully thought-out menus and good food, although not exceptional. Service can be slow and inexperienced, but staff are friendly. Portions can be small for the price. High-quality ingredients are used and there is a relaxed atmosphere. The brunch is fantastic, especially the chicken sausage. The restaurant is cozy with good options for breakfast. Some find prices high but worth it for the treat. Overall, Venus is a good spot for a nice meal, especially for locals looking for a cozy atmosphere and good food.

The food was fantastic! The wine selection and service were also excellent. The only downside was that it was a bit loud.
The food and ambiance were fantastic. The restaurant had unique Euro pricing which included the tip. The prices were reasonable and everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken was especially delicious with its tangy sauce. The lamb dish was perfect for the chilly evening and the wild salmon was also very good. The mushroom appetizer had a tasty hint of sherry. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
The food at this restaurant is excellent with a nice variety of healthy options on the dinner menu. The service is friendly and professional, making us feel pampered and satisfied throughout our meal. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and cozy.
Not exactly inexpensive but still a good value as their food is very good and the portions large!
Waiter may have been new. Offered wrong information about the special of the day. The cheese plate came in without a main ingredient AND waiter did not know the cheeses. She was very friendly, almost too friendly. Always great food. Prices are high, but it's worth the treat. Loud. Can they store the broom somewhere else than in the bathroom?

Wonderful!! We make a point of eating here every time we are in town. Great staff, the freshest food and delicious coffee!
Really enjoyed my breakfast here. The atmosphere, food and service was top notch. I had the Turkey sausage scramble yummm!, home fries and the best English muffin ever. Service was fantastic. Never got low on my delicious coffee. All ingredients taste fresh. I like that.
Went here with a friend for my birthday brunch. Neither of us had been there before but we had heard good things. We both had the Venus Curry Eggs Benedict and it was heavenly. Eggs cooked perfectly and the curry/hollandaise they had on it was amazing. The mimosas we had went great with the meal and all in all it was a satisfying, classy brunch in Berkeley.

Fantastic brunch. Has the chicken sausage, which was fantastic and well prepared. Also highly recommend the Mocha, which was far better than any coffee chain drinks with similar price.
Definitely worth a moment. So much good stuff on the menu, I order 2x2x2 to try a bit sweet and hearty. Chicken sausage is really good, def try it. French toast is simply correct, soft and feel it melts in your mouth.
Had breakfast here with my family, we chose this restaurant specifically because the menu seemed like it would satisfy everyone with different tastes. Service was okay, not bad but not the most friendly waiter. I would also say the food is pretty average as well. The menu seemed amazing on paper, but when it arrived it lacked the flavor it was described. Again, not horrible but could be better. Portions were good, and the price was great. I do appreciate that they serve food with higher quality ingredients though (like real maple syrup). I would not come here again simply because I drive 40 minutes to get to Berkeley and there are better options, but if you’re a local it’s a good spot to have a nice breakfast without breaking the bank.
I think they are changing the name(? , On door dash is CraveBuger but it's the same address. I order the onion rings tonight and it's all burnt and bite like a stone
Heard that Venus was related to one of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley, Tigerlily, so gave it an enthusiastic shot at dinner. Despite the restaurant being 90% empty, service was non-existent, and the food took forever to come out. And although the food itself was decent and the menu seemingly carefully thought through, it was very hard to justify the small portions with the good-but-not-THAT-great taste of the food for the price we paid. Unless they improve their service and portions to match their prices, I will just go to Tigerlily and be happily fed there.
