Was melissa at Remy's Mexican a mag?
My SO and I stumbled upon this place while trekking through Berkeley. The food and drinks here are great!! Highly recommend Remy's nachos. You'll find it in the appetizer section, but that monster is definitely entree sized. View all feedback.

This is really a hole-in-the-wall place. I've walked by it countless times and never considered going inside because it was in such a weird location (next to People's Park). However, on the inside, this place is enormous, and there is also outside seating in the back. The food here is also pretty good, and the service is pretty fast as well. I would really suggest getting the grilled burritos. Remy's also participates in Touchdown Mondays, so they give discounts depending on how many touchdowns we score that weekend.

First off, free chips and salsa. The staff is super friendly and the $6 margarita pints are strong. Not to mention the food is delicious! Being from Southern California, I'm a Mexican food snob, but Remy's hits the spot. I recommend the Super Burrito with shrimp and carne asada (it's called a surf and turf burrito where I'm from) these burritos are HUGE and super tasty. You can't go wrong with Remy's!

They recently relocated in December 2009 to 2506 Haste Street, which is just about 100 feet from their previous location. The food was tasty, and the salsa had a nice kick to it. I was also served a bowl of chicken rice soup with my lunch special. The lunch special cost $7.95 and included a taco, a tamale, rice, and beans. The restaurant was clean, and I really enjoyed my experience. I will definitely return.

Old school style mexican food. Big plates, yummy refried beans, great salsa. I used to frequent a place on Telegraph that seems to have been demolished. Good thing Remy's seems to be very similar. Lot's of great food and drink specials.
