Reviews - Northside Cafe
Reviews summary
This cafe in Berkeley serves up an average American breakfast experience, with mixed reviews on the food quality. Some find the breakfast items to be non-greasy, generously portioned, and well-prepared, while others are disappointed with cold potatoes and average dishes. The cafe offers a quick and healthy snack option with a decent selection of sandwiches and salads. The cozy diner-like atmosphere and friendly staff make it a favorite spot for some customers. Overall, it's a convenient place to grab a meal, although reviews vary on the food quality and service.

This is my go-to spot for dining near campus. Abe and his team are super welcoming and whip up some tasty dishes. I highly recommend trying the taco trio or the steak and cheese sandwich - you won't be disappointed. And don't forget to try their one-of-a-kind Mexican hot chocolate. This place definitely deserves a solid five star rating. View all feedback.
What Markus McKenzie dislikes about Northside Cafe:
Average. Yeah just Average. The first American breakfast since I came to USA. I ordered the house special. There wasn't anything special about it. Scrambled egg (without salt , toast (I got half of them toasted the other half not, why? , potatoes (the taste was good but they were cold . I was pretty excited but after the meal I was sad. Breakfast Sandwich (croissant) was good but the coffee is disgusting, could barely even drink it.
The Eggs Benedict is memorable and the pancakes are light an fluffy. They serve home fried potatoes a little too Salty for my taste tho. HASH BROWNS PLEASE! No where to get hash browns on the Northside of campus! !
The most price reasonable wrap (burrito ish) near the campus. Note: they sell wraps only in the morning or until slightly past 12 pm

Delicious food and wonderful service. The staff is friendly and accommodating to those with special dietary needs.
Mole quesadilla is the bomb! I've been going to Abe's since they opened over 7 years ago and it's still my favorite breakfast/lunch spot on the Northside. Great food, awesome people, convenient location.
I have been getting lunch from this place for about 2-3 years and I'm ashamed I didn't write a review sooner. There's a reason why this place is so highly rated. The food is delicious and the people who work there are amazing. Don't sleep on this place if you live in or close to Berkeley. My personal favorite is the special breakfast burrito (see photo) but everything on the menu is great.
The BEST egg sandwich I've had in quite some time portions are massive such great bang for your buck with the freshest ingredients. ALSO the spinach and pineapple juice was BOMB! To top it off Abe is such a great guy and really brightened my morning with his positive vibes and energy : Thanks Abe!!!!

Kudos to the brave employees of this cafe who shielded a woman from a man trying to kidnap and assault her. Way to step up guys! I will definitely be swinging by to support this business next time I'm in Berkeley.
Decent selection of sandwiches and salads. Bread to go with the salad was so-so the one time I tried the house special but the rest was very good. Unassuming diner-like decor inside.
Food is good, service ok. if u want to come here to get some work done, good luck. wifi is slower than dial up.
