Reviews - Northside Cafe
Reviews summary
This cafe in Berkeley serves up an average American breakfast experience, with mixed reviews on the food quality. Some find the breakfast items to be non-greasy, generously portioned, and well-prepared, while others are disappointed with cold potatoes and average dishes. The cafe offers a quick and healthy snack option with a decent selection of sandwiches and salads. The cozy diner-like atmosphere and friendly staff make it a favorite spot for some customers. Overall, it's a convenient place to grab a meal, although reviews vary on the food quality and service.

This is my go-to spot for dining near campus. Abe and his team are super welcoming and whip up some tasty dishes. I highly recommend trying the taco trio or the steak and cheese sandwich - you won't be disappointed. And don't forget to try their one-of-a-kind Mexican hot chocolate. This place definitely deserves a solid five star rating. View all feedback.
What Markus McKenzie dislikes about Northside Cafe:
Average. Yeah just Average. The first American breakfast since I came to USA. I ordered the house special. There wasn't anything special about it. Scrambled egg (without salt , toast (I got half of them toasted the other half not, why? , potatoes (the taste was good but they were cold . I was pretty excited but after the meal I was sad. Ordered pancakes with egg and pork sausage patties. Competent stuff at a decent location, but just a tad pricey
The Eggs Benedict is memorable and the pancakes are light an fluffy. They serve home fried potatoes a little too Salty for my taste tho. HASH BROWNS PLEASE! No where to get hash browns on the Northside of campus! !
Everything is good but the wifi. I can only connect to it after tens of tries. You may wanna fix it.

I highly recommend this restaurant for several reasons: Abe and his team are some of the friendliest people you'll meet, the atmosphere is always cozy, the food is delicious, and the coffee is top-notch. Enjoying a coffee break at Abe's is always a wonderful experience.
Not a lot of sitting space, but most things are okay to order to go. Some daily specials are especially worthy of consideration, like this green chili pork sandwich here.
This restaurant is quite impressive, as the menus are delicious. Although I haven't been here very often, I really enjoyed the sandwiches I have tried so far: the Carnitas sandwich and the steak and cheese sandwich. One thing to note is that there was a slight smell of pork in the Carnitas sandwich, which may bother some who are not used to it. The steak and cheese sandwich was good, despite my initial concern about the bread being too hard. It turned out to be much softer than I expected and very enjoyable. I would definitely visit this place again. If you're looking for a sandwich that's more substantial than what the Stuffed INN offers, but still craving a sandwich, then this is the place to try. I would give them 4.3 stars.

First time trying Kurto (Hungarian dough and it taste great! Although the dish are a little pricey, the ingredients are decent. Good place for fulfillment breakfast, brunch, or dessert! *They have WiFi and their staff are nice as well : Chilaquiles
Decent selection of sandwiches and salads. Bread to go with the salad was so-so the one time I tried the house special but the rest was very good. Unassuming diner-like decor inside.
Great food, I loved the breakfast stuffs weren't fat. They looked more baked than roasted. The eggs were well and generously cut. You have cool real sugar soda in interesting flavors, and add a coffee machine with many options such as nutmeg and cinnamon to your drinks.
Really good food and beautiful vibes in this cafe. The prices are not too bad, and although the food can take a while to try it. Her fruit salad and crispy chicken sandwich are both amazing. Loves to eat and study this place or just relax.
Good, quick option for a healthier snack on Northside. They have many different drinks to choose, and their salads are also quite good. They usually don't have a line so long, and it's pretty polite inside so that you can usually find a table to sit down. Also, very accessible, whether you come from campus or from Soda/Etch. It was not able to try most of the food options, so I can't really comment.
