Lemat Ethiopian - Berkeley

The right luxury Ethiopian restaurant in the Bay Area! Lemat is decent for its eye capturing interior furniture directly imported from mother land. Executive cultural authentic traditional dish choices with the right Ethiopian food test! I think Bay Area have Lemat as a great place for the choice of real Ethiopian traditional foods. It reminds me of some of the luxurious restaurants back home. I feel like home when I go there! Am glad we have enough restaurants in the bay area. And imagine Ethio Jazz with Bekele, Sirak and Tedy. It's a cool place. It's my representation and I am recommending Lemat as the first choice being the best and consistent!

The food was both delicious and very authentic. The tej (Honey wine a traditional Ethiopian beverage) was better than any I have had and this includes many tastings in Addis Ababa. And the atmosphere and staff were warm, welcoming and made for an exceptional dining experience. I ordered the meat variety platter while my companion chose the vegetarian assortment. All were very well prepared and quite tasty.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly. The veggies and lentils were cooked to perfection. The honey wine is also a must try. Will definitely return the next time I am in the area.
