I've been on the hunt for a fantastic Indian restaurant for quite some time, and I really wish I had discovered this place sooner, especially since I live farther away. What User doesn't like about Jot Mahal Palace Of Indian Cuisine:
Went for lunch buffet. Food was all cold. Even when they brought out refill pots and pans that seemed to be steaming, it would be cold after it was placed in the buffet tray. They do provide fresh naan which was yummy. Their food was flavorful but couldn’t be enjoyed much since it was all cold. When they brought replacements, only that one dish would maybe be warm. This is definitely a gem that I will make a regular part of my rotation of family-owned and operated restaurants.
It was another fantastic experience! Restaurants like this are the reason I love local dining spots. Many of them are family-owned businesses where dedicated and friendly people work hard. We relished every bite of our meal at Jot Mahal. We had tikka masala, samosas filled with potatoes and green peas, chicken curry, garlic naan, and plain naan. I must say, all the dishes were wonderful, fresh, and authentic. Considering the quality, the prices are quite reasonable. This is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in Berkeley. The servers are helpful, cheerful, and polite. They are knowledgeable and offer excellent recommendations. Jot Mahal is also family-friendly and a safe place to dine. I highly recommend a visit!
The food was absolutely delicious. While it's not a fancy restaurant, everything was truly excellent. I even indulged a bit too much because it was so tasty!
Great place. I love naan and the Tandoori chicken. I didn't get pictures of the naan, because it looked so delicious.
Great food, and the owner is very friendly! The chicken tikka masala and chana masala are amazing, literally some of the best I've ever had in the US. The naan can be slightly burnt sometimes, but that's somewhat expected.
