Was michelle jacques at Gregoire a mag?
I took one bite of my chicken sandwich (and I do mean ONE bite) picked up my phone and proceeded to call friends to tell them about this wonderful restaurant! I am not one to take pictures of food, but I HAD to share with my friends! Sooooo good! View all feedback.
What Dan C dislikes about Gregoire:
Soup of the day was fantastic, but was a bit of a mystery as they do not disclose what the soup is here, on their website or even when delivered. Tough for those with dietary preferences and allergies. Potato puffs are bland and like eating styrofoam packaging with a dipping sauce. Sandwich was alright, wouldn't order it again. Menu is nice. Food is delicious. It gets quite busy and there is very little seating.
Gregoire the amazing chef for which this restaurant is named is a rockstar set out on a mission to bring Michelin quality food in a $20 box. Over 20 years later it's obvious he made that a reality! The food: Get the quiche salad!! It's the best kept secret behind the fanfare of the fried chicken sandwich and potato puffs. The quiches are moist and cheesy so yum, with the pastry crust just yum. Every season it's a new quiche and every type has been a winner so far. Think there's only been one quiche I wasn't the biggest fan of and it was still pretty good. The best by far is the asparagus quiche. Sounds weird. but try it. Why 4 stars, is only because I've been there often enough to have had some inconsistencies in quality of food. Gregoire knows and is actively trying to address this. He doesn't believe in automation that could help with consistency but takes that soul away of course it's harder to train people, but it's the right way to do food if you ask me
The delivery was incredibly fast, and the chicken was outstanding. Thank you for being so timely!
To make matters worse, when my order was ready, she didn’t bother calling my name or handing it to me with any courtesy. Instead, she dropped it on the counter and walked away without a word, leaving me taken aback by her utter lack of basic decency and respect for paying customers. This level of service is unacceptable, and I walked out feeling insulted. I won’t be returning to this restaurant and would advise others to think twice before dining here if they appreciate even minimal customer care and respect. The treatment of customers reflects poorly on the overall experience and the establishment itself. This is not a place I can recommend. Avoid it if you can.

The place itself is quite small, primarily designed for takeout, with only a few tables on the outdoor terrace. However, the service was incredibly fast and efficient, so I had no issues there. As for the potato puffs, they were beautifully presented in a small hexagonal-shaped box, perfect for photos! The puffs were steaming hot and came with a few dipping sauces that paired perfectly with them. The puffs had a wonderfully crispy exterior and a gooey, creamy interior that melted in my mouth—it was like a heavenly bite of rich, creamy potato! The sauce added a delightful contrast to the textures and flavors of the puffs. I haven't tried any other dishes from Gregoire's, but if they’re anything like the potato puffs, I’m sure they’re just as delicious! This is definitely an incredibly tasty and enjoyable appetizer snack. I would go back in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend giving them a try!
Wanted the best Fried Chicken Sandwich as we don't live here and since this was the 1st to pop up. Boy are we super glad, bestever. Had the sandwich was on point had the Poutine best I've ever had and the Potatoe Puffs we loved it all. Will be telling everyone about this lovely Gem. Super happy and satisfied. Will be back for sure and bringing people. Excellent and the people were also super friendly. Made our day and our dog, lol.
These are the fried potato balls. They were quite fragrant, but overly oily. The potatoes were too soft, which caused the crispy coating to not hold together properly. I found them to be a fun snack, and the bathroom was clean, but I don't feel that the texture and flavor matched the price of $10 for a serving of potato balls.
I really enjoyed the food here! A local in the area recommended this place as they have a rotating menu. You never know what they will have! You have a self-ordering kiosk window or you can order online for collection/delivery. I lived for the Steak and Brie Sandwich! Creamy Rich Brie cheese melted on delicate steak and a sharp dijon mustard sauce. That was incredible! Three of my favorite ingredients packed in a few good quality bread. Definitely worth the $16 spent. But my darling? The potato puffs! They were so tender and tender. The perfect potato structure in the center. In the yellow curry sauce? Really! My only criticism is that they are really strongly salted. I am curious to try out the different flavors of potato puffs in the future.
I'm not reviewing this place because it needs it; I'm doing it to showcase my good taste. I really miss growing up here. The love and care that went into the food helped shape my eating habits and preferences during my teenage years. It even sparked my interest in cooking! Gregoire himself was often around when I visited before the pandemic, and he consistently maintained the quality of the food. Once you experience this thoughtfully crafted menu, you won't want to go anywhere else.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic and the salads are my favorite. They offer a variety of fresh seasonal vegetables that are very satisfying. I was full after eating only 3/4 of my meal. The restaurant does not have indoor seating, but there is a nice outdoor seating area with 4 tables, some benches, and counter service for ordering.
I frequently visit this restaurant just for the potato puffs! All the flavors are delicious and we usually order several to share. The aioli varies each time, sometimes garlicky or balsamic, but always delicious. We appreciate the variety. The staff is consistently friendly, quick, and attentive.
Five stars for those potato puffs!! I was getting ready to move and had never gotten around to giving them a try, despite having heard about how good they were in the past. I decided to stop by the week before I'd be leaving so that I could finally try them I definitely wasn't disappointed!! I wish I had gotten them sooner now! They had a mobile app with discounts and rewards available on it that made it very quick and easy to place an order for the potato puffs they were ready within a few minutes of placing it and was able to walk right in and pick them up. It's a very tiny establishment, clearly designed primarily for take out, as there were just a few outdoor patio tables. The service was very quick and efficient, however, so no issues there! As for the potato puffs themselves, they were beautifully presented in a little hexagonal (I think) shaped box that was very aesthetic for photo taking! The potato puffs inside were steamy hot and came with some dipping sauce (I'm not quite sure what exactly type of sauce) that tasted great with them. The puffs have a perfectly crispy and crunchy exterior as you bite into them, and then a gooey, mushy interior that just melts into your mouth and tastes like the riches, creamiest bite of mashed potatoes ever! The slight tang from the sauce that you can dip them into was a great accompaniment to the textures and flavors of the puffs! I haven't tried other food items from Gregoire's, but if they're anything like the potato puffs, they're probably delicious as well! Definitely an incredibly delectable and delightful appetizer snack. I'd get them again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend!
This is a wonderful place to visit! The salad inside the sandwich is quite special. The bread and chicken are both crispy.
You order ahead over the phone and pick your food up there. Street parking is available. You can see the cooks through the window. The place is only a kitchen. You are asked to pay a tip, although the only service is handing you the bag. I wish they would just pay their employees already. The packaging of the food looks very professional. The food is plated on paper into custom-printed orange cardboard boxes. I think it tasted good, although driving it home and re-plating it did make it suffer a bit. We microwaved the soup but it was quite tasty. The desert raspberry tarte in the prix-fixe menu was also good.

I have never had a bad meal at Gregoire's. Everything is always unfussy but slightly unexpected, and so delicious! My only complaint is that I don't get to go often enough.
Awesome-Morroccan soup was rich, tomatoey, and garbanzos integrity was intact. Chicken and feta on grilled lavash, light, but favors popped. Side of salad de potato, cause you can't call something this good potato salad. Friendly staff and fast service. Can't wait to try Berkeley next. Waited too long to taste Gregoire's cooking again.
French takeout at its best! I've never been let down, and tonight was no different. I grabbed my meal in one of their charming, ingeniously designed boxes. Stuck in traffic and feeling frustrated, I pulled over and let the delight of Grégoire’s food ease and calm my irritation. C’est magnifique!

The fried chicken was dry. The coleslaw etc. was bathed in pepper. I could not eat it.

It 's a trap! The food: great, the people: (usually) not rude But I 've had an unending struggle with ordering takeout from this place, all on account of the lure of a free promotional offer. Every time I order takeout, they say the promotional offer isapplied yet when I arrive, they claim they never got the order. Even after calling ahead, they did not allow me to use thepromotional offer because the system wasn 't working. It 's not that hard to just not charge for potato puffs. Each time theytell me they 'll put the promotional offer back, and each time it doesn 't work. It 's just another system glitch for them, but forme it 's an inconvenience in a busy day when I just wanted a fun and easy lunch. I 'm writing this while standing outside, waiting 30 minutes for an order I placed in advance. Update: the food was somehow very cold even after waiting for it Saveyourself the hassle and pick a different location.

Once you experience a menu crafted with such intention, there's no going back.
These are the fried potato balls. They had a strong aroma but were quite greasy. The mashed potatoes inside were really soft, which meant the crispy coating didn't hold them in well. I found them to be a fun snack, and the dip was tasty, but I expected better texture and flavor for $10.

I really liked the sandwich I ordered, and the way it was packaged was beautiful. However, I found that the seating in the restaurant was quite limited.
I really liked the sandwich I ordered. The presentation was beautiful, but there were limited seating options.
