There was some pathetic excuse of fire s... read more On one of the coldest and rainiest days in Berkeley history, they insisted on keeping the door to outside dinning open. There was some pathetic excuse of fire safety given which was pure BS as we had been told earlier it was for the servers convenience. Wearing multiple layers and a down coat and still being frozen to the bone is not exactly how one wants to eat a delicious meal. Had we not been meeting friends, we would have left. Not happy. I guess we can only go in warm weather.

That patio is particularly nice on warmer nights and the inside has a nice open feel. Service was attentive. A great place to gather for families or colleagues. Conveniently located in downtown Berkeley.

The noise level was a little high, but we enjoyed the glee that a table of women friends seated next to us were experiencing. It just made it a bit harder to hear our table conversation. The whole concept of Gather is one I highly respect and support!

The sauce on the panisse tasted scorched and needed salt. The corn soup was brown and didn’t taste like any vegetable we could identify. At this point, we canceled the rest of the meal and asked for the check. Service was ok. But if you want good vegetarian, Millennium is 13 mins away and was spectacular.

W... read more Gather has changed its menu and no longer serves the kale salad, but we had the asparagus salad and the deep fried artichokes instead and they were excellent! We had theater tickets, so we were pressed for time, but we ordered the grilled rib eye and it was perfect! They came with smashed roasted potatoes and grilled ramps. Oh my! Fabulous job with the food and the service. Our server was warm, friendly and efficient. She also knew the menu well and the preparation of each dish. Terrific overall experience. Will be back again soon.

We neve... read more We were seated less than an hour before close of service on a Sunday night. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly despite not having a reservation. We never felt rushed. Our server warned us politely that the kitchen was going to close even though we had plenty of food and assured us dessert would be available for the rest of the evening. The list of unusual cordials (some made in house, even) was refreshing to see. A lot of places put very little thought into this category. I chose a Swedish selection. It was the perfect way to fishing off a flawless meal. Will return if ever in the area again.

The Marin Sun Farms Cheeseburger was underwhelming. No char on the burger. Fries were bland and over fried. Homemade ketchup was tasty. Hoping there are better items on the menu so we can order more cookies.

Even though its a bit of a distance from my house, its so easy to warm up in the oven and it tastes just as delicious (if not better to me) as if I were eating it in the restaurant. Only downside is you can order it with pepperoni in store (FIRE) but theres no pepperoni option in the app.
