Very disappointing. Surprised it’s 4.7. The meat was mostly inedible big chunks of fat and cartilage. I threw away about 80% of the meat. The rest was just a big bowl of rice, 2 small strings of brocollini and a bit of cabbage. Not worth $15.
The spring rolls and garlic noodles were mid and not worth the money for me, but the banh mi is definitely solid and a good (relatively) cheap/convenient meal
It was good and service was kind and quick. Space is also clean. I would come back again.
Nestled in Berkeley, this popular eatery garners mixed reviews, showcasing a contrast between stellar and disappointing dishes. While many rave about the delicious Banh Mi sandwiches, fresh rolls, and generous portions, some diners lament inedible meat and subpar bread. The ambiance can be bustling, particularly during peak hours, making it ideal for takeout. Guests appreciate the fresh ingredients and the flavorful NamNam sauce but caution that food loses its magic when ordered for delivery. With a mix of devoted fans and unhappy customers, this restaurant embodies the complexity of culinary expectations in a vibrant student hub.

Delicious and relatively healthy food at a great price point for students. I usually get a chicken Freshroll Sandwich, and haven?t been disappointed with quality, portions, or taste once. Love that I found this place earlier in the semester.
The food is so cheap but tasty! Also very healthy! A great choice for a simple and quick lunch, and dinner.
The fresh roll, what a really good deal for a delicious and healthy meal. A $5 lunch!

I tried the Bahn Mi Fresh roll, bone broth, and ginger limeade at this restaurant. Everything was delicious, fresh, and just perfect. I had it delivered to my hotel through Door Dash and I was really satisfied with the whole experience. I will definitely order again the next time I'm in town.
Great flavors all around! Nothing to fault. If youre feeling unwell get yourself some chicken broth. Its lovely.
This must have been an off night or a careless staff, because this is the worst experience I have ever had at this restaurant. Not only was my order incorrect, but the Freshroll sandwich was mostly bread with little substance. If I could receive a refund, I definitely would.
I had a delicious and satisfying meal at this restaurant. The NamNam sauce was amazing, but I recommend eating in-store because the freshness of the food is not as enjoyable when it gets cold. The fresh rolls lost their crunchiness and became chewy, and the Vietnamese baguette and shrimp started to smell unpleasant. Overall, I give it a rating of 4 out of 5. I think it will taste better when I visit the restaurant and get it warm and fresh.
Im SO DISAPPOINTED! I dont usually ever give bad reviews. 3 stars is generous for what I ate. I only ate it bc I hadnt eaten all day and was famished. I expected better especially for the most costly bahn mi ever. The main thing is that the french roll was Terrible- cardboard crumbly tasteless mush. I ended up just eating the inside after a few bites. The ingredients inside were Okay but mostly very dry. The pork was tough and dried out. Idk how u got good ratings.. maybe without the bread or maybe the shrimp is good? idk. I will not be trying it again. : Good luck :

The roll was $5 and was okay. The garlic noodles were extremely salty, and when I presented that to the server, she went to the back and tried some herself and just told me “this is just how it usually tastes”? No offer to refund me or to exchange it for another item. Very cheap tasting food (not in a good way). Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
Not so good quality and amount of food compared to sf store. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Their tagline should be “Very expensive, mediocre fast food” and “we hope you like wilted lettuce and Nestle bottled water.” I love Vietnamese food. Having spent time eating through restaurants in Hanoi, Da Nang, and other Vietnamese cities this is just sad. Bonus: since they charge an extra 5% on top of the $15-17, so you’re actually spending more than at a restaurant for an inferior product. Please support an actual restaurant. good luck trying to find the 5% on the website or menu. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
