I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but my last visit was disappointing. I noticed that a younger girl was cooking, whereas it’s usually older women in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the food was dry and just not up to the usual standards. Food rating: 2/5.
We got this delivered with uber eats and it was amazing! So big and yummy, great value for money.Vegetarian options: Yummy falafel!!
Ordered Chicken Swarma Plate, Mediterranean Plate and Gyro Plate. They were all excellent and everything was very fresh. The hummus is super yummy. Fast and reasonably priced as well.Food: 5/5
My first time here it's was around 11am so not very busy I was able to walk in and order immediately the staff were friendly although I would have appreciated them to be a bit more informative. The food came fairly quickly, the restaurant is small but is plenty of seating inside. I ordered a Chicken Kabob plate that came with rice, salad, hummus. Quality of the food was great it was delicious my only complaint was that the chicken was a bit over cooked so some parts were hard to chew but overall this was a very satisfying meal.
Dyar is a hidden gem in Berkeley, celebrated for its outstanding Mediterranean cuisine. With a cozy atmosphere and quick service, customers rave about the freshness of dishes like kebabs, falafel wraps, and hummus. Despite some inconsistency in food quality and service on occasion, the overall feedback highlights great flavors and reasonable prices, making it a satisfying choice for those seeking a tasty and affordable meal. The charming scent of delicious food wafting through the air is a compelling invitation for passersby.

The food is great, but the staff's unfriendly attitude turns ordering into a challenge. I've never encountered an employee who smiled or asked how my experience was. The poor service really discourages me from wanting to return.
This restaurant offers outstanding Mediterranean cuisine. The charcoal-grilled dishes, falafel, and Mediterranean platter are the highlights and absolutely delicious.
I was just finished walking the Fire Trail and decided to drag back through the campus to see the clock tower on the way down the hill before I return to my car. I was stopped in the middle of it when I passed Dyar just because of the smells that came from the little store. All the chairs were stacked on the tables, but they take pickup orders and still accept cash. The staff wore masks and gloves. For $40 we received: 1 Kefta Kebab-Wrap, 1 Lamb Kebab-Wrap, one side of Hummus, side of Falafel and 2 Baklava. Everything was so fresh and so delicious! The meat was fresh. The hummus tasted like he had just been freshened and the baklava was still warm flaky. I'm so happy with this discovery! This area in Berkeley, has a lot of great food, this place is no exception.
I'm surprised this place has only 4 stars. The food is consistently delicious. The chicken shark is the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy! Love you, D'yar!

D'yar is a fantastic place to enjoy a delicious dinner, whether you're craving a wrap or a shawarma plate. Located in a vibrant neighborhood full of dining options, the trip itself adds to the overall experience. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Shawarma with the Hummus plate from their menu. The salad offers a refreshing blend of cucumber and cherry tomatoes, while the falafels are wonderfully hot, soft, and chewy. Be sure to ask for a hot pita—it’s excellent! The wraps are also a great choice, and adding extra meat really boosts the flavor. D'yar is definitely worth the drive, time, and money!
Be sure to try the Mediterranean plate with extra pita! It’s consistently fresh, tasty, and surprisingly satisfying!
The Chicken Kebab with rice is excellent! They serve some of the best chicken on campus, and the portion size is definitely generous.

Good food but extremely unfriendly employees make this place a drag to order from. Never once has an employee smiled or asked how I am...horrible service makes me never want to come back.
This is excellent Mediterranean food. The cauliflower wrap, falafel and Mediterranean plate are the best.
