Was Rishi Chopra at Cancun a mag?

I ordered the Bean Burrito ($7), choosing pinto beans and adding cheese. I also included pico de gallo for an extra burst of flavor. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. View all feedback.

What Zephyr Neumann dislikes about Cancun:

I really want to like this place, but I've tried it several times hoping for a better experience. I usually order the super burrito, which I find to be very overpriced at $21 considering the portion size. The rice is consistently undercooked, and the tortillas take away a significant part of each bite. It seems like they could easily add an extra scoop of beans or rice to improve the dish. For now, I'll be continuing... View all feedback.

Dude this veggie burrito wasnt great. sry. all ingredients seem fresh and clean. but all it has in it is rice and beans. i added avo so theres avo. no salsa, sour cream, lettuce, nothing. just beans n rice. and its like $22. grilled veggies have no place in a burrito either. you guys usually put that stuff in even tho its not in the veggie description. u guys need a basic super veggie: beans, rice, avo, pico de gallo, sour cream, lettice or cabbage, jalapeno if wanted.customer shouldnt have to try to create that with a bunch of substitutions and omissions. one click a basic veggie...please! Yet another Berkeley institution that has managed to stick around since I was in high school, 25 years ago. Not much has changed either. The format continues the same, the line moves fast, food is fresh, and it's a great alternative to stupid chain places like Chip . Food: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Parking space: Difficult to find parking Parking options: Paid street parking, Paid parking garage

They Bogart salsa and make you pay extra for it. If you plan on doordashing from this place and you order extra salsa they will forget to give it to you and when you bring it up when you go in person they don't comp you for it. I don't care how good it isit's not like it has moon rocks in it or fairy dust I could literally make any salsa they have with ingredients I find in thestore just as good if not better. I think that Berkeley should stop going there and cast them out they are much better Mexicanrestaurants in this city. So if you're looking for good Mexican food go to anywhere else.

Everything was fresh and delicious! There were plenty of vegetarian options, and one of the best quesadillas I've ever tasted. The strawberry agua fresca was fantastic as well. The prices are very reasonable for such generous portions of high-quality food, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I absolutely love the street-style tacos here for both their quality and price! This is definitely one of my favorite places for tacos in the area. There's plenty of indoor seating, and some outdoor options as well. They also have a large salsa bar. I'll definitely be returning and highly recommend it!

Additionally, they offer excellent tortilla chips along with a salsa bar that features a variety of fresh, homemade options ranging from mild to extremely spicy. If you enjoy frescas, their watermelon and strawberry flavors are sweet and unmatched! I truly hope Cancun remains in business for years to come, and I plan to continue supporting their restaurant. While their menu prices may be a bit on the higher side, the quality, generous portions, clean dining area (both inside and outside), and excellent service make it completely worth it. The overall dining experience is exceptional!

Cool spot, I like the building a lot, large open space inside. I’ll have to try more of the menu out, but the soft taco was decent; the Torta’s look amazing. Thanks! Anthonyxibarrax

In summary, this restaurant offers decent Mexican food at typical downtown prices. The atmosphere truly reflects its name. They have a salsa station for your chips, which usually comes with your order, but I was hoping they would also provide a station for grabbing additional chips—like many other places do. While my dish looked and tasted good, I felt the price didn't quite match the experience. However, I understand that running a business in a downtown area can be costly. Overall, it's a nice spot, but I might prefer to explore some of the nearby establishments in the future.

Honestly, this place is the best thing I've experienced in Berkeley so far. I tried the carne asada taco, and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. I didn’t expect one taco to be enough for me, but it was really filling!

This is my favorite taco place in the East Bay! I always get the street tacos you get 4 tacos for $15.99. I recommend the fish, carnitas, and pollo tacos. They also have an amazing salsa bar that you self serve from for the chips that come on the side. Heads up parking is hard to find nearby.

I tried the crispy fish taco, and it was absolutely delicious. They offer an amazing selection of salsas to try. The ingredients are locally sourced, and the restaurant uses gentle, chemical-free cleaning methods. I'm so glad we found this hidden gem. I'll definitely be returning!

Cancun offers one of the best salsa bars in the world. The menu features tasty and affordable dishes, but the highlight is definitely the extensive salsa bar. With more variety than I've ever encountered, including unique options like strawberry cactus extra-hot salsa and other exotic blends, Cancun is a must-visit for salsa enthusiasts.

I visited Cancun on a Monday evening with my teammates, and we had an amazing experience. The restaurant's menu offered a wide range of choices. We tried a burrito platter served with tortilla chips, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The assortment of dipping sauces was a pleasant addition. However, I think the sangria could be improved.

Furthermore, they offer fantastic tortilla chips paired with a fresh, homemade salsa bar that has options ranging from mild to extremely spicy. You can't go wrong with their frescas either; the watermelon and strawberry flavors are simply unbeatable! I genuinely hope Cancun remains in business for many more years, and I intend to keep supporting this wonderful restaurant. While the menu prices may be a bit higher, the quality of the food, the generous portions, the cleanliness of the dining area and outdoor terrace, along with the excellent service and inviting atmosphere make it absolutely worth it. The whole experience truly reflects the value of the meal!

Basic, simple, and fresh (At least when I ordered it) Burritos. Stick with a classic and you won't be dissapointed. Al Pastor or Carne Asada. The rest of the proteins, as well as the chips (Factory made, and in crumbles) and salsa (Yawn Boring) are nothing to write home about. However, having said that, My Burrito Al Pastor has been on point every time I have ordered it. Final result: This place is neither fancy, or high end, nor a roach palace. If they got it together a little more on the food prep, and stopped trying to squeeze profits out of mundane ingredients, Flavorless beans, factory chips) they'd probably be one of the top spots. At any rate, they're reliable for a burrito that will last all day.

Cancun strikes a good balance between quality and portion size. The burritos are the highlight—I'd recommend the chicken for those who prefer something simple, or try the mole or carne asada for a more adventurous choice. The chicken salad was fresh and tasty, and their rotating specials, like a plate with vegetable tamales topped with a spicy red meat sauce, served with rice, beans, and cactus, have been a favorite repeat for me. The real star is the Salsa Bar. My top pick is the pumped salsa, though many people love the fruit salsas—strawberry, mango, and pineapple. The spicy salsas are truly fiery. This isn’t exactly “authentic” Mexican cuisine (just ask any Mexican food purist), and without the salsa, the burritos don’t stand out much. But the salsas keep people coming back, and honestly, the burrito feels more like a vehicle for stocking up on my weekly supply of pumpkin salsa. The dining area is okay but can get crowded and noisy, especially during peak hours and when local high school students from nearby Berkeley High are in for lunch. There’s no free parking, though there’s a paid city lot right next door. Prices are reasonable but a dollar or two higher per burrito compared to typical mom-and-pop Mexican spots. Still, just a short walk from the west side of Cal Campus, this place is by far the best option around.

Cancun is a great spot for Mexican food in Berkeley, offering both dine-in and takeout options, which is very convenient. One unique feature is the small markers on the floor that indicate how long the wait is based on your position in line, helping you keep track of the wait time. The prices are quite reasonable. The flour quesadilla was tasty and generously sized, though the Maistostada was on the smaller side. Their burritos are large and filling, with a good variety to choose from. They offer a wide range of Mexican dishes, along with an impressive selection of salsas, including Mango and Strawberry, perfect for salsa enthusiasts. Overall, Cancun is a solid choice for Mexican food if you're looking for an alternative to La Burrita.
