What Drea Michelle dislikes about 900 Grayson:
I really dislike having to write this, and I'm hoping this isn't a common issue. I was so shocked that I didn't even think to take a picture. I immediately informed the person who served me that there was a spider at the top of my drink! Fortunately, I hadn't taken a sip yet. View all feedback.

Good texture chicken for sure. Got the chicken and waffles and the chicken sandwich. Thought the Slaw could be more flavorful. I got the salad instead of fries and thought it was ok, but a good offset for the fried chicken. Couldn't even finish the portionswere so big. Very attentive service. Cute spot also.
This review is long overdue. The food here especially the chicken and waffles is AMAZING. Hidden gem! That chicken and the spicy sauce omg. It?s SO much better than chicken waffles we?ve had before, seriously maybe the best we?ve ever had. Cuteplace. Highly recommend.
Some of the best chicken and waffles I?ve ever had. Super fresh and nicely battered chicken, and the pancake was ready to take in all the syrup, spicy sauce (if that?s your thing, which I highly recommend), and other seasonings. Mixed together very very nicely. The place itself is pretty quaint and intimate. Really enjoyed just having a relaxing breakfast there. Would absolutely go again when I go back to Oakland.
The service was excellent! However, the breakfast (eggs, potatoes, and Fiji apple) didn't quite meet my expectations.
This review is long overdue. The food here, especially the chicken and waffles, is AMAZING. It's truly a hidden gem! The chicken paired with the spicy sauce is out of this world. It's so much better than any chicken and waffles we've had before—seriously, it might be the best we've ever tasted. The place itself is cute too. I highly recommend it!

Stopped in for brunch on a Monday a couple of weeks ago. Superb service and a nice atmosphere with great disco music playing. Ordered the demon lover and I'll say it left a lot to be desired. First of all, it was easy to tell that it wasn't made fresh. Rather than a breast or thigh, expect a breaded cutlet (the breading had some kind of spice--cayenne or paprika) that's been beaten to patty thickness atop a thin Waffle House-esque waffle, i.e., not the ideal style of waffle to support a hunk of fried chicken. Not an authentic southern chicken and waffles experience and honestly just above passable. Asked for the hash browns extra crispy and boy were they--basically potato straws, which I don't mind but it was impossible to get them on the fork. However, our server was fantastic--attentive and capable without being overbearing.
I used to come here pre-pandemic a lot and just tried it again recently with our toddler. I got the standard breakfast with egg, hash browns, levain toast, and sausage. The sausage was flavorful, hash browns crispy but not over fried, and the eggs perfectly done. The coffee kept coming too. Wait staff were attentive, friendly, and top notch. Prices were very reasonable, particularly compared to other brunch/breakfast options nearby.
Got there around 815 Saturday morning. Lots of open tables. Ordered the chicken and waffles aka demon lover. Chicken was very good and the combo of gravy and syrup was great contrast. My only complaint is that the waffle wasn’t very crispy. All around would recommend giving this place a try!
Excellent hot delicious food served fast and fresh. We walked in at 1:15 on a Friday and were sat immediately. Small menu with unique combinations but something for everyone with a special of the day. We both had the large portioned demon lover chicken and waffles. Bomb! Get both they syrup and the best gravy I've ever had, you won't regret it. As a bonus they have art from local artists represented on their wall for sale. Very cool. Highly recommend! We will return here.

The food at this restaurant is outstanding. The hours of operation are somewhat unusual, which makes it challenging to book a table. However, with a bit of careful planning and some patience, it's absolutely worth the effort.
Wait Time: Our meals were served in a timely manner, also receiving a rating of 4 out of 5. Price: The prices were fair considering the quality of the food, earning another 4 out of 5. Atmosphere: The restaurant had a distinctive and inviting vibe, which also gets a 4 out of 5. Overall, I had a wonderful time dining with my friends on Saturday afternoon.

I gave 1 star because there's no 0!I love this place been coming for years.I got a to go order. But today I ordered the Demon lover chicken and waffles I always get this and it was terrible. The chicken was not totally fried it was more like soft stale leftover! worst of all the must have forgotten the spices on the breading of the chicken because it was flavorless!!! The chicken is usually fried and crunchy and the seasoning is amazing u can just pick up bits of fried breading and it's delicious but not today nothing crunchy and no flavor. Usually you can see the seasoning and tasted it. and the waffle was not cooked all the way. The syrup was watery and light colored. Usually it's better quality syrup. I payed around $18 for this. I would have gone back to ask them to make another one but this was my breakfast on my way to work so I didn't have time to go back and wait. I won't be coming back there's other places cheaper but I was willing to spend $18 for this because it's usually great but today it wasn't worth half of it. I felt like I got ripped off and disappointed because I was really looking forward to this meal all week.

One of my go-to places whenever I am visiting Berkeley. The staff is super friendly and attentive. My favorite item on the menu is the Demon Lover. I recommend getting it with both the gravy and syrup.Food: 5/5

2 words. Demon. Lover. Parking is a pain you may have a wait but I promise, every single thing will be worth it. Service, food, you name it. One of my best memories of the Bay Area. If you're not patient, go before the lunch crowd be ready for it to get real busy! Cheers!
Those Hashbrowns! Delicious breakfast in an authentic, good food place. More than competent servers does not equate to arrogant servers as other reviews imply. They do their jobs well efficiently.
Came to this place via Yelp. My husband had the Tom Boy I had the Savory Bread Pudding. Not a big mushroom fan but I've been trying to live out of my comfort zone these days. Incredibly Delicious were the words that come to mind as I write this. We will be back and bring friends. The staff was nice and welcoming along with being attentive without being overkill. Thank you for a very pleasant eating experience.

Some of the best chickens and waggles I've ever had. super fresh and beautifully broken chicken, and the pancake was ready to take all syrup, spicy sauce (if this is their thing I highly recommend), and other flavors. very nicely mixed. the place itself is quite juicy and intimate. really enjoyed only a relaxing breakfast there. I would go back to oakland.
Located at 7th st and Grayson. Street parking only. The restaurant is small for indoor, but I see they have larger out door space at the back(not sure it belongs to them). There is not too many choices on the menu, I can 't say it is bad or good. Depends how you think about. But they can make themselves easier to make, shorten the wait time, better taste, etc. I would suggest if they can offer gluten free choices for the menus items. Maybe they have already? I didn 't ask about. If they do, they could charge more for that. I don 't see why not. LoL. Anyway, I ordered 7&Grayson , and breakfast . They taste good, the shape of the hash brown is kinda unique. Coffee smell strong. The service is great. Service make me feel like a tiny bit in a high end restaurant.
Hidden gem! Their chicken and waffles are amazing. Chicken is sooo good with the gravy. Make sure to order the maple syrup if you want a little sweetness on your waffles. Also I tired the hubby's hashbrowns and they were crispy and scrumptious. Definitely hit up this spot if you're in the area. So fresh and organic.
