The absolute worst!! From checking in , to the restaurant, to checking out way too many issues to mention- just the absolute worst. Still waiting for a call from the owner to explain my issues everyday..

Great place. Beautiful views and had so much fun. Everything was excellent.

When I made reservation, I thought I was getting a private cabin somewhere on the property. Turns out, my wife and I were staying in a standard room located in the main building $241 per night.Staff was very friendly, the place clean, and the main building beautifully outfitted with wood from floor to ceiling. After we checked-in, we literally walked past the kitchen (we could see orders up and ready for customers); that was rather off-putting but it’s the building layout so whatever. Our room was spacious and had a jetted tub in the actual room; kind of nice as we could look out the window and we weren’t in a cramped bathroom. The room itself was okay, nothing notable save whoever painted the trim didn’t prime it first as all the knots in the wood bled through and it looked as through the room still needed work.Wife and I decided to eat in the restaurant on the grounds which was a 30 second walk (back past the open kitchen doors). Good selection was largely bar food with all meals listed in the 4 page menu; we weren’t blown away by the food or service and were pretty low maintenance as diners go. For as nice as the restaurant bar area looks (in pictures and in person), several guys walked in wearing their short sleeve work shirts, one dude came in with a sleeveless shirtsleeve shirt…We enjoyed our stay, I guess; it was time away from our teenage boys and a zoo-worth of animals but we won’t stay here again and surely will fine somewhere else to eat when we return to Berkeley Springs (which we do several times a year).

The absolute worst three days ever at Coolfont Resort- from being told 10 times that my dog is not allowed in the hotel due to a recent health inspection, even though all personnel told me that ur dog is welcome all thru the hotel , except obviously in the restaurant, to the next morning heading for breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake with our dog where he us allowed we were told by the waitress she cannot wait on us on the deck as she is by herself and must stay in the dining room even though there was no one there and a total of two cars in the parking lot , turning her back on us and walking away, to checking out the next day with the same front desk clerk we saw at checkin telling us she never said that about the dog then said she did and when I mentioned the episode in the restaurant she said the waitress was right not serving us on the deck as she had to stay in the restaurant even though we have coupons as a perk from the hotel for two breakfasts and just kept angering me more and more and even asking me if it rained would I eat on the deck with my dog and started laughing at me!! That was it.!! Never again!! Still waiting for a phone call from the owner!!!
