What User doesn't like about Hyuga:
The place is a bit hidden not on the big Immermann St. People queue up before the restaurant opens even on weekday. We were very happy with the food .. feels like eating in Japan. For dinner reservation is a must. For lunch you better come a few minutes before the restaurant opens since there is no reservation possible and the restaurant is quite small. Price-value ratio is very good especially for the lunch menu. View all feedback.

Stepping into Hyuga, is like entering a family restaurant in Kyoto or Tokyo, the colours, the old-school orders and receipts on paper. The place has that vibe and atmosphere. No wonder there is a queue forming outside the restaurant including excited Japanese aunties and couples even before the restaurant opens. I had their Hyuga Gozen, a limited set lunch that they do sometimes. It is a set meal with a little bit of everything from tempura, Japanese-style pickles, appetizers and sashimi. All these for 20 EUR (31 SGD). In Singapore, the price is comparable or cheaper to a gozen in a Tomi Sushi or Yayoi, but the items at Hyuga are much better quality and more delicious. The tsukune was yummy, the sashimi was fresh and the tempura was done right. Rice was spot on too. This is another place I will recommend if you want a Japanese meal with a nice atmosphere without the bling bling or fusion twists. It is worth queueing and do bring cash. They do not accept credit cards.
An excellent experience we had at this restaurant. The food is made with fresh ingredients with an amazing attention to details. Traditional Japanese food at its best.
It started off great with miso glazed eggplant. It was sweet, soft and delicious. But sushi platter (40 eur) and big sushi roll (17 eur) was a big disappointment. Maybe we picked a wrong day but you could tell the fish was not fresh and the big sushi roll didn’t even have fresh fish inside (just crab meat from a package). For the price you are paying, it was definitely not worth it.
