Some of the best food we've ever had. Must try. Not a lot more expensive than other places for lunch but the quality is much better. 7-80€ for two people for lunch excluding drinks.
Overall we had a lovely, leisurely lunch. The lady who served us was so kind and patient and, whilst we decided on the 35 EUR lunch, she was happy to flex this so we could share a cheese plate and a dessert and do so at a pace that suited us. Ok, so I was a little bit disappointed by the food, absolutely fine for what we paid, and ample too, but I wasn't wowed. My asparagus soup tasted far too much of pepper and whilst the pork was delicious the mashed potato and sauce were heavy with nothing to lift the dish. The excellent service made up for this, and the wines (especially the sweet wine), the cheese plate and the crème brûlée were also excellent. We sat next to a couple who asked for tap water and didn't even buy a coffee if a lot of people do this, the quality of the midi menu will of course go down.
We visited in February and it was an absolutely perfect experience. The dishes were succulent, refined, and clearly prepared with great care. The table service was worthy of a fine dining restaurant, with an exceptionally kind team. The servers were particularly attentive to our two-year-old daughter, taking the time to chat with her and even showing her around the kitchen—a moment she won't soon forget. A huge thank you also for their consideration regarding my gluten intolerance: they demonstrated great professionalism by adapting the dishes and taking all necessary precautions (even changing the oil in the fries), which was truly reassuring. Finally, the place is simply magnificent, full of charm and character. We had a perfect time and will gladly return!
A warm welcome, impeccable service and divine cuisine with a special mention for the sole meunière!
A beautiful restaurant tucked away in a small alley in the historic center of Bergerac. The food was exceptional, with one small complaint from my partner who found the reduction on her beef very bitter. We mentioned it, and the restaurant offered a discount (a definite plus). The wines were excellent and well-recommended. The service staff were very friendly, responsive, and had a great sense of humor. The amuse-bouches and pre-dessert macarons were excellent.
