Just had a great dining experience at J's Steakhouse located next to Quality Inn Suites in Draffenville, KY. If you're ever in the area you must visit Reno Family (OWNERS). Everyone makes you feel right at home and definitely let you know your business actual matters. Oh..did I mention? The food and service was great!
My first time visiting and the experience was outstanding. Food, service and atmosphere was great. Well worth the drive! Definitely recommend!!!
UPDATE 2/25: We've eaten there two times in the last 3 months and have been disappointed. Evidently something has changed in the kitchen because the last two visits have witnessed subpar food and extremely long wait times for food, on average of one hour AFTER ordering to get entrees. In fact, one table just up and left, throwing a few dollars on that table to cover drinks, and another table had repeatedly ordered drinks during their wait and were pretty much hammered. The drunken table was there before we were! Somebody better get a hold of the kitchen and get it back on track. Otherwise, this place will find itself closed. We will try one more time at a later date . . . . if they last that long . . . because the food WAS great . . . once upon a time. Original review: I really hope this new restaurant in Draffenville does well since we live only a few miles away. My family went there on a Saturday night, and we were pleased with our meals and appetizers. I ordered a burger, which was just fine. My daughter and husband ordered ribeye steaks, their favorites, and they were more than pleased with them. Both said their ribeyes were cooked spot on. Granted, these steaks were not the infamous $45 on the menu, but if you're looking for good food, there are plenty of items on the menu well within a budget. We will definitely be back.
Great ribeye! Actually correctly cooked! I don't often get a rare steak when I order one. Salad bar was fresh with lots of variety of veggies and dressings. Sweet potatoes were awesome. Fresh baby asparagus was grilled perfectly. Bread was good but I could have done without the cinnamon butter. Really great service.
We stopped here before the Alabama concert in Mayfield. Weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Nice local country steak house. Nice variety on the menu, all food was well prepared and tasted good. Don't expect your servers to be high collar, they're just good ole boys and girls, nice, friendly, and helpful. Definitely worth a stop. You won't be able to take the bull by the horns here, they're mounted too high on the wall!
