Perched in a scenic spot with a cozy interior and deck views, this public house charms with warm bread, a well-stocked salad bar, attentive service and a solid drinks list. Diners praise steaks, seafood and desserts, but experiences are inconsistent: dishes have ranged from perfectly cooked to over-sauced, bland or seemingly frozen. Noise levels can be high, prices feel steep, and a reported hygiene lapse and uneven management response temper the praise. Worth a visit for the location and service, but expect variable food quality.

Very load place (Thus the name for restaurant Publyk House). It was dinner time though....server was wonderful, and food was good and hot. I saw someone conniving for a free piece of roast beef after he already ate the cut he received and then complained. The restaurant gave him a bigger cut to take home. This person gloated about how he got this for free till he left.
We come to the area 3-4 times/year. Publyk put out a brand new menu yesterday. Our food was not good. I ordered fish and chips and I am quite sure it was a packaged frozen product. My husband's strip steak was at least 1/3 gristle. The warm bread was cool. The restaurant was mostly empty and the hostess seated us against the wall and inches from a noisy table. Everything was overpriced. We will not return.
Started dinner with warm bread and maple butter which was awesome. Great salad bar with lots of choices. I had the creamy shrimp scampi which was absolutely delicious and my husband had the pork chops with apples which he enjoyed thoroughly. Portion size was perfect. I saved room for the maple walnut ice cream which was creamy and crunchy. It was a great evening and it will definitely not be the last time we eat here.
The bacon and scallop appetizer was absolutely delightful! The salad bar offered a wide variety of options, and the fresh loaf of bread with maple butter was fantastic! The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the views from the deck were incredible!
Service was great views were spectacular sadly the meal was “meh” we asked for medium rare salmon and it was overcooked and over sauced with some nutty topping. Love the place but the food was a let down.
