The service at this restaurant is quite slow, despite the fact that it wasn't busy. Additionally, the bearded employee was not very polite.
The tacos here are incredibly underrated. The Al pastor is one of the best I’ve ever tasted, and their carne asada is fantastic as well. This place is truly a hidden gem in Benicia. I just can’t figure out why it’s so slow; the quality of the food definitely doesn’t match the slow foot traffic. I will definitely be coming back!
Went in with a small group, trying to help out a small local business that's been struggling to attract customers ever since ownership changed late in COVID. We were the only people in there at the peak of dinner time. Food was okay.Service a bit sketchy. No drink menu. No prices given (given issues will hand written bill and method of payment, per below, pretty obvious why). Bartender delivers a handful of lime wedges with their bare hand. Bill arrived. Handwritten. Bit confusing. Almost $300 for nachos, tacos, burritos and one drink per person. Credit card fee proactively added to the check, okay no problem. Again, small business that's been struggling. We get it. The manager then proceeded to get angry that a credit card was being used and demanded cash. When a member of our party quietly mentioned to the server/bartender that they'd already proactively charged us a CC fee and it was not a great business practice to also give a hard time for using the CC, server/bartender doubled down, got very argumentative and went on the attack verbally.Whoa. Okay. Never again. Plenty of other local businesses to support
I had fish tacos at the bar, and they were excellent, especially paired with the drinks. The ownership has recently changed, and I'm looking forward to returning to explore more of the authentic dishes on the menu.
Where does one begin? Shall I begin w a hand full of limes? CC fraud? Cash? Up charges? Or lack luster food? Poor service?! Considering we were their only customers for the night, you 'd think we 'd be given some respect? Let 's start with the limes, a sweet lady in our group kindly asked for some cut up limes, the bartender, turned server proceeded to bring a hand full of limes in his hands, no gloves and dirty nails and place them on her plate!! Ummmm what? Health code violation?!?! I mean.......how about asking for guacamole only to be told we don 't have any! Let 's see you have avocados, salsa, and pico. Pretty sure you can make guacamole. Cool....next! Bill time (skipping the no taste food bc well that doesn 't need much explaining) We received a very confusing, handwritten Bill, the bartender turned server, comes over and starts hovering over us. What we 're trying to figure out why tax is so high why a Cc fee is so high...so we added it up ' since they already charged us a Cc fee we didn 't pay the $300 bill in cash! But wait the Bartender told us that the lady wanted to charge you 15% but I know the law so I only charged you 10%. Ummmm OKAAAY!!! when one of our party went to pay w the CC that lady said where 's the cash, she said I 'm paying w CC that same lady said can you pay w the cash (guess they were spying on us and saw the cash) she again kindly declined and said no thank you I 'll be paying w my card, then that same lady said can you do 1/2 in cash, again no thank you! As the lady muttered things, the bartender toldHer to shut up ! We did tip more than the 10% only bc we aren 't d*cks! But when kindly telling the bartender it 's not good business to tack on a CC fee in the total then ask for that total in cash with the fee included! He proceeded to verbally get aggressive, and name call! Well, I guess this bad apple of a restaurant won 't get any more of our money!
