We went to the resevoir hotel for my birthday dinner. It was priced at a fairly standard amount (We paid $58 for two adult meals and drinks) and was very pleased that our kids ate free (Mondays and Tuesdays).I had the meat lovers parma and was quite satisfied with it. Large portion sizes (except perhaps the risotto) and nothing overcooked. Good night out! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Reservoir Hotel:
We had exciting and high hopes for this pub!We went here for a weekday lunch, my Mother 2 young children and I. The service was below average and although we were still treated politely enough, it was as though they couldn't be bothered. This was shown through a lack of assisting, directing and greeting us to any table and even giving us menus. The atmosphere is very dark and moody which felt quite cold and miserable... I am unsure about this restaurant. The manager was not wearing a mask, a woman working in the kitchen was also not wearing a mask and came out to serve food. The wife of the bartender had a mask on but it was worn below her nose. It did not seem like they were prioritizing the health and safety of their staff and customers.
I recently wrote a review entitled 'Yum ' but we returned last night and I was very disappointed. I had the pork belly last time and raved about it but last night it was very overcooked dry and tough as a boot! It was also much smaller than last time and even my friend commented on the size of the meal. They did redeem themselves slightly with dessert though as we all had cheesecake and it was delicious! But they probably don 't make that on site. The chef may need to review how he or she cooks the pork belly and cmmust have known it was dry and overcooked but still let it leave the kitchen.... not good. Can 't believe I paid $29 for it. Won 't order that again. The other 3 meals were all good though.
Never been here before and decided to try it out. I had their burger and my wife had the chicken schnitzel. Berger was just way too tall to eat properly and had to be deconstructed, which ruins the burger. Was too dry and needed sauce to get some flavour in. Chips were ok. Burger cost $20 but was worth $12. Mentioned my thoughts to the staff who took it ok. Would not have another.
Linguine marina we both ordered was very poor standard. Chewy calamari mussels in a tasteless sauce which appeared to be straight from a jar. 2nd time we have had an ordinary meals here doubt we will return.
We recently booked one of the function rooms for my fathers wake. I have to say the setting was perfect, the food delicious, the drinks ice cold and the staff were friendly, compassionate and attentive. I would highly recommend the Resi for your next private function.
