The Foundry Hotel Bistro - Bendigo

We don't frequent The Foundry often, but it has a great atmosphere. We tried the Plumen Parma last night, a common item on pub menus. It wasn't the best compared to others we've had. We preferred the Flying Moa dish, but it was definitely on the more expensive side.

Dined here with a group of friends and had a woeful meal. I ordered chicken schnitzel and it was terrible. It was so over cooked and dry it was like chewing a bit of old shoe leather. Others in the group had quite ordinary meals...too and it was fairly pricey for a pub meal. They were good and didn't charge me for the meal but definately not up to scratch. Poor service too very slow and we were all sitting waiting while staff were busy standing about talking between themselves. I am sure there is better to offer in Bendigo

Went to the bistro for dinner. Service was helpful and friendly the entire visit. Menu has changed slightly since covid times with some tasty additions. No specials menu currently. I ordered lamb souva a new item. For this was great value. On pita bread...with loads of lamb, spinach and baby tomatoes with garlic sauce. I couldn't eat it all. My family loved there chicken breast with mustard sauce (except on menu it says served w veggies but it actually came w salad and chips) and fish. Highly recommended

Allowing a customer to sit at the counter for more than 5 minutes not offering to take their order, and then instead directing them to order at the cash

My husband and I had lunch at this restaurant in Bendigo. It was the best lunch we have ever had. The garlic-ball-lob was delicious. The staff were efficient and friendly. We will definitely be returning when we are in Bendigo.
