Krua Khao Jaow Thai - Bendigo

I have dined at this Thai restaurant several times and it is definitely our favorite in Bendigo. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including satay chicken skewers, spring rolls, roti, and coconut prawns. Everything was delicious and it is also the most affordable option in town.

We were looking for a restaurant on a Friday night and all the 'trendy ' ones in the CBD were booked out. This little restaurant was opposite our motel and what a find it was. The best Massaman curry and chicken larb we have ever tasted, seasoned to perfection and served with the most delicious roti. If we lived in Bendigo we 'd be here every month.

You won't fully appreciate the delicious food at this restaurant until you experience it for yourself. The environment is unassuming, located near a drive-in liquor store, but the food is outstanding! The authentic Thai dishes are generous portions and offer great value for the price.

Staying overnight at a Golden Square Motel and needing something different to excite the taste buds we looked for a local Asian Restaurant and settled on Krua Khao Jaow Thai close by where we obtained 2 takeaway dishes. A beef and vegetable combination and a fried rice were our selection which we really enjoyed. Service was quick and was helpful in making our selection. Thank you. The restaurant was spacious and warm and we will revisit in the future.

We were not put off by the eclectic surrounds of the former UK pub and could cope with the very nervous young waitress taking our takeaway order. She undercharged us for the entrees and the owner calculated the difference and we happily paid. But then we waited and waited despite the restaurant being less than half full. Finally got our order but once back to our hotel was disappointed to find we had been charged for a main size but given an entree size only for one of the dishes. Could not be bothered to go back. The food we got was delicious but it was way too much effort to get this right.
